  • I've said it before, and I'll say it again: This is going to be a repeat of Byrd II for Wlad. Haye has shown me nothing at HW that would suggest otherwise.

Even with only four days to go, I'm still worried about Haye actually SHOWING UP. But with $12,000,000 on the table, I think even he will show up. Even if it is just to collect a huge payday before retiring.

Unlikely. I don't see a beat-down in this fight, more so Wlad starts unleashing late in the fight. I can't see Wlad doing much different, and as usual Wlad will be reluctant to throw till he feels comfortable doing so.

I think Wlads jab will get the work done. His jab is seriously underrated as a way to inflict damage.

            • I chose the too close to call option.

You can make good cases for both fighters.
Wlad has far more experience then Haye at HW and is the bigger guy.
But he has problems with Haye type fighters. History shows that he doesn't do as'well against them. In my opinion Haye is better then Brewster and Sanders. He has lightning speed and has more power then people give him credit for.

In a strange way this fight reminds me of the build up to the Khan vs Maidana fight. On this forum most people didn't give Khan a chance. They said he was fighting the stronger guy, a more resilient guy, a better allround fighter who would land on Khans chin and it would be lights out. But it didn't go like that did it. Khan got hit with bombs and stayed in there. He did damage to Maidana and even put him down with a brutal kidney shot.

I see history might be repeating itself here and think people are deciding more based on if they like a fighter or not rather then based on their attributes to actually fight.

I think it will go in either 1 of 2 way's. Wlad comes out and Haye is scared to death and the whole occasion get's to him. Runs away for most the fight but Wlad hit's him at somepoint with the right and he goes down, game over.

Or as i am kinda leaning more towards as the day's pass, that Wlad is really ruffled and comes to the ring with his head stuck up his ass. Haye seems to be getting to him and his camp, they look really dejected by all Hayes antics. Wlad in his speaches seems more concerned with being his friend then fighting him. If this Wlad shows up and his mind is not focused he could be in serious trouble. If Haye lands a right hook it is going to wobble anyone, look what happened with Valuev when he got hit by it. And i am pretty sure Valuev is more of a tank then Wlad is seeing as technically he has never been knocked down. If Wlad get's hit with that as we have seen in the past he is going to go over. The question is how he deals with that. If he has changed as he claims then he will weather the storm.

But if he has not changed and goes into panic mode then Haye is the last guy you want to be like that against. When your wobbling he jumps all over you. If he is having free shots at you then it is just a matter of time before you go over or the ref stops it.

The more i see comments by both guys and the trainers the more i start to think Wlad is not right in the head in regards to the fight. This latest interview with Steward at the BBC website backs up the whole confidence thing. For big fights you need that belief.

So i think it can go either way. If Wlad comes to the ring with his head right and Haye comes to the ring to fight and not run away then we have the makings of a classic. And if that happens i could not care less who wins because i would be happy to have seen a great HW fight again!

                • I just hope for a great fight HW and boxing in general needs it after the likes of Mosley/Pac.. Alexander/Headley and the poor state of the HW division

                  • Is David Haye still currently ranked at #2 in +/- CompuBox ratings? Last time Boxingscene posted the CompuBox ratings sheet, he was ranked only behind, Floyd Mayweather. It won't matter though, Wlad will be too much for him to handle this Saturday.
