Thats a bit hypocritical especially since you somehow think that Canelo has any choice in the matter to begin with. Again Golden boy is the matchmaker just like top Rank is the match maker for pac, cotto, and everyone else on their roster. Canelo doesn't get to pick and choose who he fights golden boy does!!!
The fact is championship or not Golden Boy is gonna move him up on their times table and you can scream and holler all you want about it but thats just how it is when a promoter has a very popular 20 year old fighter. deal with it and man up he will fight the big fights just not when you want him to. Golden boy made an investment and they arn't gonna risk anything until they know hes ready and frankly if I was the head of Golden boy i would be doing the same thing.
So next time you wannna say that he has responsability to do this and do that stop and think for a second. Who's really calling the shots with canelos career and I assure you it certainly isn't canelo.
1. It seems that you are taking my view very personal, and are catching feelings(I'm judging this by the tone of your statements). If this is the case than we can cease any further dialog, as I am not here to cause confussion or break up any happy homes.I am here to express my opinions in regards to Saul Alverez's newly minted "Championship" status, and the tourny that may result from it.
2. We are talking about Saul "Canelo" Alverez. We are not talking about the nameless title shots of old in which you tried to use as a counter to a point that I made. A point that you have yet to debunk with any meaningful banter.
3. If you think that Canelo has no say so(In who he faces), then I suggest you call in Santa Claus, the Toothfairy, and the Easter Bunny. And ya'll draw up a power point presentation on the finer arts of Fighter, Trainer, and Promoter relationships. So that ALL fighter's henceforth understand that they have NO say so over who they battle in the ring with. "Dont let that bull***** jibberish of "I just fight who my promoter says to 'um fight" fool you. Fighters have more say so than you think.
4. Golden Boy can move him how they see fit. They are his promotional company and get paid BY Canelo to do just THAT. But be mindful, that GBP has a penchent for moving thier fighters a little too fast(See Ortiz vs. Maidana for a refresher if you need to).
5. I dont have to scream and holler, nor do I have to deal with a *****in ass thing. I can watch Canelo or change the channel. It's as simple as that. He has not impressed me enough to have me clamouring all over him as a fighter. That I just must tune in when he steps inside of the squared circle. You my friend it seems are forgetting the fact that they are touting this young man as the next JCC. THAT is one hell of a shadow to emerge from bruh. And Canelo aint going to do it, by fighting the likes of Matt Hatton, and then taking cake walks afterwards. While the rest of 154 slugs it out with the best in the division. If you advocate that then dont be surprised when the kid flops like JCC Jr. did.
I understand that his choices are beinginfluenced by his promotional company(GBP). But keep in mind that Canelo is a Mega Star in Mexico. GBP blows(And doesn't miss a drop)Canelo as to not lose the 2nd coming of JCC Sr. and ODH wrapped in one. Canelo has ALOT more say so than you give him credit for. Believe that.

Oh and the reason we think paul will lose to someone with power is because when has paul ever fought a real murderous puncher? He got knocked cold by a fighter who is not know for punching who set up that left perfectly. Imaging what some who actually has power will do to paul once they put their game plan together.
(Cintron 32 fights-28 ko's), (Kolle 27-17 ko's), (Quitana 28 fights-22 ko's), (Margarito was a beast), (Mattheysse 26 fights-25 ko's), Sergio 46-25. All of these fighters are heavier punchers than Sergio and with the exception of Marg. and Cintron, they've all been TKO'd by PWill.
One punch doesn't negate a man's whole career. Plus, look at most knock outs. The boxer is usually looking at the person he's knocking out. Martinez thru a haymaker, while looking away, and it landed. PWill wasn't be dominated to that point. He got caught with a well timed, but erratic punch.

I really don't get it at all. The WBC takes the belts from the real champs and hands it to the phony's. It's BS becuase if you don't follow the sport hardcore like most of us then these wannabe fighters would seem like they are the real champs to the average person..
