Would Ortiz have been more sucessful if he stayed with Top Rank?

Back a few years ago I remember Ortiz being the next Oscar, a big star in the making - He was Mexican, well spoken, had the looks, skills and crowd pleasing style.

Fast forward to now and he is a fringe contender at best, always the bridesmaid and never the bride.

Unfortunately it is obvious to see that Goldenboy has mismanaged Ortiz, possibly ruining any future career he may have.

My question is, if Ortiz stayed with Top Rank would he been more successful than he is now?

The match making against Maidana was poorly planned.

Golden Boy under estimated Maidana, dismissing him as hype and coming off a loss to Kotelnik.

Putting a young star against a monster like Maidana would destroy any fighter's heart.

It was a mistake from the beginning.

Lets give him a chance he has one loss against a very tough fighter who he wasn't doing so bad against before he quit in that fight....also it was what 2 years ago? lets move on and see if he can rid us of that awful failed marketing scam Berto.

Many of you forget that when Ortiz fought Maidana that Micheal Jackson had just died 2 days earlier.

This would have mentally affected Ortiz as he was such a big fan, even playing his music as his entrance theme song.

Doesn't matter what promotional company he's under, the guy is ultra talented but he's weak minded, and that's all there is to it.
