I have no problem with a commentator mentioning God or an athlete giving the sign of the cross or looking up. What I have a problem with is Roy saying it in every sentence. This is a public setting and there is no room for God this, God that. Say it once but you don't need to say it 5,6,7 times in a few minutes. Do you say these things in a meeting at work? No. So why say it over and over infront of the world?
RJJ and God.

They need to add a Satanist announcer, so it will be a battle between good and evil on every show.
That could be the entertainment if we are viewing a boring fight.Comment

Hmmm. I didn't even notice that he said it that much.I have no problem with a commentator mentioning God or an athlete giving the sign of the cross or looking up. He did. Roy takes every opportunity to mention it as well. So what is he saying? God is selective about who gets the talent while the other guy gets his brain bouncing around in his skull? Why is that, aren't we all children of God? I suppose God also had something to do with him getting knocked out a couple of times as well.
The point is he needs to stop mentioning it. If the talented fighter doesn't bring up God as having anything to do with their talent then you(RJJ) shouldn't be talking about itComment

LOL Satan announcer after Montiel kayo "That shot came from the bowels of hell. I taught Nonito that."
RJJ "No, God gave him those skills. You just hatin."Comment

Spot on. I love RJJ as a commentator and I do believe in God, just like him but he takes it too far. I have no problem with a fighter giving a shout out but Roy does it a lot. He's pushing his beliefs upon an audience that he isn't supposed to be biased. HBO pays him to give his opinion on boxing, not his beliefs on God.He did. Roy takes every opportunity to mention it as well. So what is he saying? God is selective about who gets the talent while the other guy gets his brain bouncing around in his skull? Why is that, aren't we all children of God? I suppose God also had something to do with him getting knocked out a couple of times as well.

In a sense he kind of is saying go out and believe in God. He's telling me the reason why this fighter is so gifted is because God blessed him. You have to believe in God to believe that statement. He has to keep the God stuff out of his job, which is to give his opinion on boxing, not how a guy got his skills.Originally posted by E-mailHe didn't say go out and believe in God, he said his opinion.
Why are some brothers better physically than others?
Why are some gifted than others?
He said power is God given, some guys are naturally strong, while some just aren't.
Ever wonder why you can't run, jump, or play sports as fast as someone?
Well in prize fighting, some have extra talents that is given to them. Not everyone works for it.
Some can say genetics, but then why are some siblings just not as gifted?Comment
