I just asked for hypothetical matchups under these circumstances, if there were a Boxingmania. That's all.

Why state the obvious, that it won't happen?
I'd pretty much make the main event Pacquiao-Mayweather and fill the rest of the card with potential absolute wars. IE Maidana vs Rios, and Angulo vs Kirkland...

well, what is the usual set up for wrestlemania? I haven't watched that crap since 5th grade.

wouldn't Wlad/Haye or Wlad/Vitaly be the main event since it is for the HW belts? I mean we are going by WWE modus operandi

No. I'm going by what I think the OP means, and I don't think he's saying it should be set up like WWE other than it being a huge mega event.

well most promoters work together like the banam weight tournament and the super six where all the fighters fight in the same night. Its arum who refuses. And no two stations cant broadcast the same thing it rarely happens in any sport besides soccer.

Not entirely. We took their model like MMA took Boxing's scoring model but make it into our own.

Either way, there were exceptions like last year. Undertaker vs HBK was the Mainevent, even though it wasn't for any titles. They understood that match was the most looked forward to by the fans, so the Title Matches were buried underneath.

                X-actly.

Otherwise I wouldn't have said SuperBowl as well.

I'm talking about THE EVENT itself. There are events in other sports that transcend the actual players. Boxing attracts by who the individuals are only.

Football has Superbowl, regardless of who is playing. Tennis has the Majors, Wimbledon being the biggest of them all. ETC,.

yeah, but the fights for the supersix aren't all on one card.

you can't compare the bantamweight tourney to something like wrestlemania... wrestlemania is a huge event with all the biggest wrestling stars... the bantamweight tourney showcased 4 fringe boxers... the biggest star of the bunch got KTFO by donaire who went on to destroy montiel.

you can't just think about the promoters... just imagine the egos of the boxers on the card, from wlad to haye to wifebeater to pac... these guys got major egos and ***** would break down fast.

well, why not call it the UFC of boxing then?
