JMM had to earn his championships the hard way..... He didn't have a promoter or sanctioning body giving him a title by fighting an unranked, smaller, lesser fighter and not even have to make weight.

Maybe is because he looks too mexican to his own people....not Anglo enough. Like soap operas in Mexico people want there stars to look as European as possible....lol

I don't think it has anything to do with Marquez being more of a native Mexican than Alvarez. I think it has everything to do with marketability. Alvarez is extremely marketable and Marquez just has average marketability... In regards to the soap operas, they have a lot of white Latinos on them because those soap operas are exported all over the world. Beleive it or not, they go as far as the middle east. Besides, not all the actors in the 'novelas' are white; alot of them are brown and even some are black.
