Comments Thread For: Saul Alvarez Restricted To 160 Re-Weigh For Hatton

Anaheim, California - Saul "Canelo" Alvarez is only 20, yet he has begun to take the boxing world by storm. It's been quite different for Matthew Hatton, who has always fought in the shadow of his much more famous brother, Ricky. Alvarez and Matthew Hatton will tangle for the vacant WBC super welterweight championship tonight at the Honda Center (on HBO). It will be the first major title shot for both fighters, yet their treks indeed have been vastly different.

Not a good solution at all. Because he didn't make the weight by nearly 2 lbs, we should understand that he is not so fined down nor dehydrated as a guy making 150 would be, therefore he will be in a better condition in adding another 8 lbs than a fighter who'd actually made the weight.

Not a good idea, and not worth it for the extra $35,000 which should be the whole $70,000 nett.

why not? pacman gets resepct for having catchweights and draining his opponents, why cant canelo come in over 160. not his fault.

Has pacman ever weighed over the contracted weight limit for a fight?

              The answer is No.

this is good strategy from ricky hatton, better to drain canelo so hatton can stop him on body shots.

STFU. Pac's last fight he came in at 145 when it was at 150. It was a strategy something your dumb ass knows nothing about.
