Alvarez faces Matthew Hatton on Saturday for the vacant WBC junior middleweight title and Chavez goes up against Sebastian Zbik on June 4 for the WBC middleweight title.

I think we can both agree that you should be doing better.

It will not happen unless either guy changes promoters. Don't worry Mexican brothers, you're future is looking bright with the Magdaleno bros, Benavidez, Mikey Garcia, Juan C Burgos, Alfredo Angulo and others. Canelo and Chavez are the worst symbols of Mexican boxing, they're two media creations w/o half the talent their status implies and fighting sub par opponents all the time doesn't cut it out. At least knowledgeable Mexican boxing fans recognize what's going on.

There it is, folks. From the mouth of the devil himself: they are going to be making defences. He's determined to make these guys champs by hook or crook I tell you.

And how has Alvarez got to this title shot? Fighting shot and mismatched foes. We can forget about Angulo, Cintron, Rhodes, Margarito, Cotto fights. WBC will make sure he remains champion by all means possible to cash in him.
