Comments Thread For: Sulaiman: Chavez vs Alvarez is Likely, But For 2014

The President of the World Boxing Council, Jose Sulaiman, is very confident that we are going to see a clash between rising Mexican stars Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez. After they win world title and spend a few years making defenses, Sulaiman expects the two of them to fight. Alvarez faces Matthew Hatton on Saturday for the vacant WBC junior middleweight title and Chavez goes up against Sebastian Zbik on June 4 for the WBC middleweight title.

So theyre gonna be Champions for 3 years? I highly doubt that unless they get put in with softies, but knowing the WBC they be fighting guys out of the top 10 in their defences.

So let me get this straight, Jose Sulaiman can predict the future? I mean it's early 2011 right now; how in the **** can you predict three years in the future? That's totally absurd; boxing is one of the most unpredictable sports in terms off where a fighter will be career wise (in the future)...

So Mr. Sulaiman has now become a promoter? Guiding the careers of his favourite Mexican countrymen, handing them his own WBC titles on a silver plate (or is that gold or platinum?) and deciding when they will face each other?
