Martinez deliberately stepped off the gas to allow Pavlik to come back and then he took the fight away from him in the second half.
Wouldn't make sense to do that, especially since the judges haven't been too good to Martinez. What happened was that he actually did gass, then got his 2nd wind. Pavlik did time him though and won most of the middle rounds, but the simple adjust I saw was that Martinez started throwing in higher volume, rather than throwing a 1-2 then moving away, he would 1-2 1-2 then move, that's the clear adjustment that I saw.
Anyways, I don't think Pavlik-Martinez was that competitive, only in the middle rounds, other than that Martinez took that one easy. I think we're gonna see a better Pavlik at SMW.

No.
Did you not watch the post-fight interview with Martinez? He went hard, stepped off and then took the fight away from Pavlik - that was the gameplan all along.
It's crazy, a few years ago people genuinely thought Pavlik could beat BHop and Joe Calzaghe....but now I think people realise he is very one dimensional, albeit with very good power. Froch would obliterate him in my opinion, would probably be a very good fight though!
Your not as slick, as fast, or as strong as Martinez, When Pavliks right hand touches you, you will quiver, Pavliks ain't no Abraham, I don't care who gives me **** for this I'm from Canton less then an hour away been a Pavlik fan and he can beat Froch
You don't give Froch enough credit he is slick maybe not as slick as Martinez but slick enough to beat Pav..Not to mention Froch is a strong puncher..He beats Johnson by the way..
