Either Klitschko beats any HW from any era.
      Quoted for the truth.

Yes one weight fighters's legacies are largely judged by amount of title defenses. Because if you look at any of their resumes, you can nitpick at the quality of their opposition (I.E. this guy was great but too small, this guy was great but past prime, this guy was young but a never-was nobody).

This happens because it's hard for two fighters to build up their resume while fighting at the same class, at the same time. Therefore you can overlook the fact that The Champion just might've beaten a potentially great fighter - One who just doesn't have the Record/Resume to prove it.

That fighter either gives The Champ fits or gets dominated or brutally Ko'd. IF he were considered great (which again is based on his established resume), The Champ struggling against him and winning or The Champ Ko'ing him would be a boost to his resume. But because it was just another Contender amongst the bunch, the win gets overlooked. Especially if that fighter never goes on to accomplish anything else.

I.E. Eddie Chambers just in this era - a solid defense, great technical ability poor-man's James Toney. Got Ko'd but will probably end up beating some more contenders.

Or if we dig into the past, plenty of articles on Great fighters who never became Champs. At least they got the benefit of doubt and the writers called them "Great" because of the era they fought in. Chamber of course would never get this type of treatment, because again, there is a Historical Bias in play here.

Bums of the past >>>> then Present Bums.

B level fighters of past >>> Current B level.

Therefore A-Level of past must be >>>> Current A-Level, because they beat the better amount of Bums & B-Level guys, than today's A-Level fighter did.

So it is assume automatically, without any basis to back it up whatsoever.
What fighters of the past are you talking about here?

For the record, the only fighters I can see beating Vitali straight up are Joe Louis, Ali and Lewis. But Vitali beats them 7 times out of ten at least.

Take that for what you will but I'm not speaking this way just because I'm a fan, but because I know the sport and styles /attributes make fights. Ring intelligence is key and Vitali is second to none. Not to mention he posesses uncanny reflexes. He would be a very tall task for Ali to beat.
Fat old Lewis beat Vitali at his own game. Prime Lewis tears vitali's face to pieces 10 times out of 10, Ali dances around the robot ripping him with fast combo's for an easy UD. Foreman walks through him and KO's his ass. Tyson knocks his head into row z with an uppercut.

What does the Lewis fight have to do with anything? If Lewis wins 10 of 10 times against Vitali it merely means that Vitali would rule the 1970ies and Lennox would even more so.

              • Vitali Klitschko vs Lennox Lewis

                THE TRUTH

Vitali took the fight on just 10 days notice.

Vitali was clearly winning the fight 4-2 on all 3 scorecards at the time of the controversial doctor stoppage. Lewis was badly hurt, was holding on for dear life and was staggering around the ring like a drunk, he barely survived the 2nd round. Lewis was getting outboxed, outworked, outlanded and was badly hurt several times in the fight.

                punches landed

                Vitali 156

                Lewis 102

Lewis was exhausted, worn down and hurt from the accumulation of punches and was ready to get KTFO again, he collapsed onto his stool at the end of the 6th round, Vitali was clearly the fresher of the two, he was a man on a mission and would've KO'd Lewis for sure if the fight had continued.

All the fans at Staples Center cheered for Vitali and booed Lewis after the fight.

                Lewis promised Vitali a rematch.

Vitali destroyed Kirk Johnson in 2 rounds and called out Lewis again in the post fight interview. The scared Lewis retired shortly after that fight.

Lewis turned down 30 million dollars for a rematch and retired like a coward because he knew he would get destroyed by Vitali.

Vitali dominated Lewis and scared his bitch ass into retirement.

George Foreman: "Vitali was winning the fight. Lewis got lucky. There has to be a rematch!"

Jim Lampley: "A lucky escape for Lewis who was clearly losing the fight"

Even Emanuel Steward was upset and pissed off at Lewis for blatantly ducking a Vitali rematch.

Lewis is scared to death of Vitali.

                  • Foreman, Holmes, Norton Frazier, Ali.

All of them had speed and power and fought with speed and power. Hence their fights were entertaining and drew big crowds.

K bros don't have the speed and thats why people get bored at the hugfests they produce.

                    • FACTS about Vitali Klitschko:

                      - All Time Great and Hall Of Famer.

                      - There is no blueprint to beat him.

                      - He is unbeatable.

                      - He has dominated every opponent he has ever faced.

                      - Has never been behind on the scorecards.

                      - Has great defense and an iron chin, never been down.

                      - 38 KOs in 41 wins, greatest heavyweight champ KO% of all time.

                      - Only man ever to be world heavyweight champ in boxing and kickboxing.

It's a shame that injuries/4 year layoff robbed him of a stronger resume. If Vitali didn't get injured, he would've dominated the HW division from 2005-2008 and his resume would've been much stronger today, maybe on par with Wlad's great resume.

Vitali is almost 40 now, came back after the 4 year layoff and is still dominating the HW division. He hasn't lost a single round in his comeback.

                      Next Victim: Odlanier Solis
