Vitali is older than Briggs.

Shannon Briggs is a 2 time HW Champ, he was the last American heavyweght champ, he has the record for most 1st round knockouts. He is tough as nails and is one of the biggest punchers in the HW division. He was a much more dangerous opponent than old shot feather fisted Ruiz. There was also bad blood between Briggs and the Klitschkos, Briggs had been talking shit about the Klitschkos for years. That's why Vitali fought him.

Again wrong unless you conider the WBO belt as a worthy world title belt Briggs was never a world champ. Lewis took out a much better version of Briggs in 5 which wouldn't make him so tough now would it. He may be tough against lower class opposition but never has beaten a top quaility fighter.

Now i'm obviuosly a fan of david Haye's, but i'm more than willing to criticise him when its deserved.

What i don't get is why so many people blame David haye for the klitchko fight not happening this time round? (even though it may still happen). yeh he pulled out of a fight with the klitchko's before, but setanta was going bust so a fighter needs to get paid right? Wladimir signed a fight with derek chisora and offered haye a fight 8 weeks after knowing that he would have to fight his mandatory if a fight date wasn't reached. he made £5 million fighting a bum, who wouldnt take that? in my opinion there is no doubt Haye wants to fight the klitchko's!

He had no reason whatsoever to pull out in January, as is proved by the fact that he's back in negotiations now (which he was forced to do because Sky finally lost patience with his ducking and pulled the plug on him).

Hatred is over the top. It's not like he's going around killing children or anything.

But disliking him and feeling let down over his lying to fans (both his own fans and boxing fans in general) is understandable. He used Wlad to get more attention for himself, then pulled out of their fight and has continually found reasons to avoid facing him while instead fighting guys who are simply not that good.

Pushed a bit harder? Funniest post I've seen in ages. If he'd pushed with one finger the door would have swung wide open. He was offered everything he had said he wanted in May 2010 and turned it down in order to fight Fraudley. Then he was offered the same terms again in January this year and turned it down in order to fight a mandatory that the WBA had already agreed he didn't have to fight. Now Sky have forced him back into negotiations because they've lost patience with him, but if the fight gets made this time, he'll be the most reluctant challenger in heavyweight history. Never before has any challenger tried so hard to get out of a title fight.

Briggs beat Foreman to become the Lineal World Heavyweight Champ

Briggs KO'd Liakhovich to become the WBO Heavyweight Champ (and yes, that's a real world title you moron)

Lewis went life and death with Briggs. He was badly hurt several times and almost KTFO by Briggs.

Vitali is nearly 40 and is well past his prime. He is OLDER than Briggs. Vitali dominated every second of every round and destroyed Briggs. The fight should have been stopped. Any other ref or corner would've stopped the fight. Rounds 6,7,8,9,10,12 were all 10-8 rounds. It was a massacre. PRIME Vitali would've KO'd Briggs.

Great post. I certainly don't hate him, but I have zero respect for him, and if he signs the fight now, it will only be because Sky forced him to do so, so my lack of respect for him won't be affected.
