If you are...FORGET ABOUT IT. And if the Ring title once held any real validity, just remember that the days when the Ring was called "The Bible of Boxing" are many years in the past, and it really has no good investigative, OBJECTIVE, "UNPOLITICAL" writing staff. All that crowd are LONG GONE.

No real boxing expert uses the Ring as any "textbook" these days....he uses his OWN smarts and contacts.

Pascal is The Ring champion, and Hopkins will be if he wins. And The Ring title is generally, though not always, the same thing as the lineal champion - and is the same thing in this instance - and for that reason is worth far more than all four of the corrupt alphabet belts combined. The lineal champion is the world champion. The alphabet belt holders just hold trinkets. The only world title belt that is (in most instances, at least) based on who the lineal champion is, is The Ring belt.

And The Ring's ratings panel consists of 38 boxing experts, all but one of whom do not work for The Ring. It includes Cliff Rold of boxingscene.

Who owns The Ring is irrelevant. Nigel Collins is a fiercely independent editor and there is no evidence that The Ring's rankings or champions have been affected in any way since the buy-out - whereas the rankings of all four alphabet organisations are so corrupt they're just a joke.

Incidentally, Wlad Klitschko has frequently said that The Ring belt is the only belt that really counts, and given you're such a big fan of the Klitschkos, I'm surprised that you so strongly disagree with your hero.

Wow! With the same reasoning, a judge could not be neutral because the United nations are in New York!

Glad to hear that the only Canadian judge did a good job.

By the way, the Quebec boxing commission accepted that if the fight is held in Quebec, not a single official would come from the province.

          exactly, wtf then you know?

this whole thing is a joke, just a dog and pony show at this point until they settle it in the ring.

Pascal has stated that it doesn't matter where the judges come from, even if they're all American, Hopkins will cry like a baby when he looses.

Maybe they should take Pascal's advice and stage the fight on Mars.

I hear Martian judges are generally impartial.

good point but imo the bout has a better chance of not falling to some slanted bs if you have neutral officials.

The 2nd fight will look nothing like the first. Pascal will have the extra gas in his tank for the 2nd fight and drop Hopkins a few more times to make it a resounding 116-109ish victory. Also wouldn't surprise me if this takes place in Canada again as that's where Golden Boy will make the most money from this fight and they've done Bute fights in Canada before.

The officials weren't biased in the first fight, so this is kind of irrelevant. Hopkins doesn't hit the canvas, he doesn't need a rematch.

Exactly. Those calling the first fight a robbery are being ridiculous. A draw was a fair result because of the two knock-downs.
