Comments Thread For: Hopkins-Pascal Rematch: Neutral Officials Down The Line

GYM's Yvon Michel, who promotes WBC/IBO light heavyweight champion Jean Pascal, told BoxingScene.com that both he and Golden Boy Promotions, who handle Bernard Hopkins, agreed on neutral officials for the rematch between their boxers on May 21. No officials will be used from the United States or Canada. The fight is a rematch of their controversial draw which took place last December. Golden Boy won the recent purse bid, but two companies agreed to make decisions with a united front.

Neutral officials doesn't necessarily mean that are smart officials.

if Hopkins insist on staging the fight in the US, I say good luck to get 20,000 in attendance as the case would be in Canada, as a matter of fact, he won't be able to attract 5,000 in Philly

Hopkins went down from 2 weak attacks.

First he tried to convince the ref into thinking he was hit behind the head, but it worked against him then and later he lost another point, which cost him a win.

20 years from now when we are talking about Hopkins being the oldest world champ of all time, I'm sure the only thing everybody will remember is how many people attended the fight.
