Id go 65/35. The thing that makes JMM so good is instead of shuffling franticly to get out of the way he can shift his feet to get in punching position and combo you on the way out. He doesnt allow round after round of bullying.

If Acosta was outboxing Rios and landing clean flush shot on him, what would the great JMM do to this slow handed young dude?? JMM don't fall apart, Rios would get brutaly punished!

It would be a great fight and a good test for rios.

I think it would be a better version of the katsidis vs marquez, but marquez would still comeout with the win.

Especially with marquez's great body shots which rios is very vulnerable too. He admitted that's what Acosta hurt him with in the 3rd round and he has been knockdown in the past with body shots.

From the weigh in to fight night his body looked different. He looked a lil soft at first bell. Acosta got some good body shots in and they worked but he never went back. Iguess because he took some body shots of his own. Id have to go with Marquez in that battle. I hope its next for Rios. Acosta was unknown but proved world class and Rios held up. I think the best way to move with fighters like him and Canelo is fast. Dont let them keep fighting these wars before going for the biggest names.

rios's aggression, powerm & dogged determination trump diaz & katisidis.

He will overwhelm marquez in the later rounds at this stage of marquez career.
maybe, maybe not. rios didnt exactly walk through acosta's power. he was really hurt early on but he regained himself. rios does have more power than diaz and maybe katsidis but he is so easy to hit. rios admitted how much he ws hurt by that body shot. and marquez did beautiful work on katsidis body. he would do the same to rios

If Juan Manuel does not get old overnight then IMO he would pick Rios apart!! But i would love to see that fight!!

time for marquez to pass the torch.

marquez signs with top rank & has the pacquiao or rios option.

if they were the same size then maybe yes, jmm pick him apart anbeats him....but there was never an evidence that suggest jmm could handle a way bigger guy who has good chin and does'nt slow down even hit with big punches.....do i think jmm could land as much puches on rios?...no doubt...would those puches slow rios down or seriosly hurt him?...not really....is katsidis a bigger pucher than rios?.....hell no...is katsidis stronger than rios?....by no means no....did jmm get hurt by katsidis and struggle againts him?.....yes , he did.......rios beats jmm now...

And just like Rios, Marquez gets better as the fight wears on. The ref would probably step in after 9 or 10 rounds after Rios absorbs too much punishment and shows more heart than his health can handle.

Remember, Marquez is an amazing boxer. His skill and power makes up for his aging legs.
i was seriously about to post something identical to this...if marquez's age doesnt show in the fight, itll be marquez/katsidis all over again..i would rather watch rios/guerrero, rios/katsidis, or rios/soto first....if it happens, itll be a good fight though
