Yes, they are saying discussions have been taking place during the past week.

Haye seems to want the fight now, since he lost his May 21 date, and Chagaev (shot, easy opponent) has been officially rejected by the BBBofC.

Haye doesn't want to take the risk of losing with a smaller payday against Povetkin, who would be his first live opponent at HW.

they could have it as vitali v haye should wlad not be fully fit and ready come july 2nd.

then haye v wlad in october, with vitali v adamek in september.

i think haye would have wasted his time easily dispatching chageav/povetkin.

Not much worth him getting up to train for when he knows neither of them would beat him, esepcially with both being so poor in recent fights.

Wlad and vitali is a challenge worth training for.

Haye hasn't beaten anyone at Heavyweight. Surely he and his handlers know that beating Povetkin, or even Chagaev, is far from a foregone conclusion. If he gets exposed, it's all over for the big money Klitschko fight. Why take the chance?
