What will Calzaghe's Excuse be after Tonight???

I think it's a given that Calzaghe will take the W vs. Ashira tonight, but the big question is: what will his excuse be when he ducks Jeff Lacy following his W tonight? What "injury" will occur during the fight? What "scheduling conflict" will prevent the fight from happening?

OR, are you a wishful thinker, and belive that Lacy-Calzaghe is a GO for December????

If he wins tonight and backs out he will be a ***** but nobody would be totally shocked, the guy has claimed injury or just backed out of fights 15 times or more in his career.

good point, people will definitely "notice" if he backs out of another big fight....but then again, we forgave Roy jones for ducking Darius, Brewer, Nunn, and a few others

i think he'll have a legitimate excuse if he doesn't want to fight Lacy on Nov. 5th.

IMO that's barely enough time to prepare. Many fighters have made the mistake of taking bouts without enough time to train.

Who is we I have been waiting for RJJ to be in another big fight ever since he fought Toney.Pre-Tarver with the exception to the Ruiz fight which was really not that impressive given the styles Roy better had won that fight easily.

              Bull****...

Sugar Ray Robinson used to fight 4 times a month sometimes on a higher class level than Calzaghe has his whole career..

What about Vitali having 2 weeks to train for Lewis?

Calzaghe is training right now, so basically he started traiining for Lacy already....

                  Quit makin excuses already!!!!!

I respect your opinion, but that's an unfair comparison. SRR was one of (if not the) greatest boxers of all time.

Tyson made a big mistake after kicking Bruce Seldon's arse. he fought Holyfield 6 or 7 weeks later, and got destroyed.....if I were in Joe's camp, I would advise him to hold out and try to fight Lacy in Dec. or Jan.
