Is Victor Ortiz vastly underrated now?

it's a long road back after you quit...........
plus the fights that he's fought in his comeback aren't the type of fights that get you ready for the top level fighters or to get your self back in there. i think he's been put in really soft since his maidana debacle and been given a pass back to the old by those who have stock vested in him, be it money, or pride.......
personally, he's should've been put in tougher to get him in the right place or to sort him out, but instead i think im looking at a milking of a fighter to get the most money out of him.
i like ortiz, but seriously, it's how he's handled that makes me su****ious of where he really is, in his head wise, as well as in heart............
once he doesn't have things go his way, we'll be able to tell whether or not he's cut out for the top class of fighters.
EDIT: also the peterson fight didn't really do anything to raise his stock, i remember he looked like he was getting confidence, and then lost it, the got it back, then lost it again, during their fight, i don't know, it's what i remember thinking about it when i was watching it.Last edited by deuce_drop; 02-24-2011, 01:26 AM.Comment

None of the options apply completely, but I think he's a bit underrated. He isn't as bad or good as people think he is. I used to think he might have something, but I'm losing it as even he still doubts his own ability to take a punch.
However, he's still a dangerous and capable fighter and to sleep on him is a bit foolish.
Berto should be tested with a good fight. I can't wait to see it. Maybe one or the other has more than I assume. Maybe both.Comment

Man he was retreating from Peterson after knocking him down multiple times, it doesn't make sense..... he was the bigger man/puncher too. He will get eaten a live by Berto, Berto will be a living hell for him. Unless somehow going to 147 made a huge difference, oh and he needs a new trainer.Comment

I think over all he is rated pretty fair. He left the door open for criticism. All the hate he gets now he cant really be mad at anyone but himself. I think he can turn it around. He has a rare chance to do it in one fight. I also cant argue with the Peterson draw. I believe he may have squeaked it out but cant dispute the fact that Mont was b*tch slappin his ass i the middle rounds. At one point the liks were sounding off so loud I just kept saying "gotdamn".Comment
