You trying to make some good points, but some Filipino parents can also be over possessive, controlling, judgmental, and manipulate given the right circumstances. Before you go claiming NON Filipinos wouldn't understand, maybe some Filipinos should look in the mirror and realize when cut they bleed just like everyone else. The things you describe and I described take place in ALL cultures, so don't expect others to give moral high ground only to Filipinos, because Nonito's situation happens within a lot of families.
Bottom line, it was his mother and father who took it the media 2 weeks before the biggest fight of his career. I don't know if they were trying to create a distraction, but those issues were known almost a year ago, and for it to resurface the way it did, when it did was wrong. Adding Manny Pacquiao's name in on top it, made it even more distasteful.
