It's hard to tell at this point because Alvarez just recently shedded the title of prospect and is now becoming a contender while Berto has matured more and is prime and ready but somehow has still been fighting bums (and I like Berto).

I'm not talking about styles or heart or skills... I'm talking about the hype that both got/are getting from the networks.

both getting way overpaid for fighting bums. both are fighting guys smaller than they are... the ginger fighting the smaller matt hatton... berto fighting jr WWs...

And both are getting mentioned next to guy like pac and wifebeater when neither have done ***** or have yet to fight anyone.

I feel that the networks (especiallly HBO) keeps on trying to force feed these 2 posers to boxing fans.
      berto overpaid over hyped YES!
      Alvarez no!

alvarez is a young kid and the hype he gets is well deserved. Berto is vet who is considered a world champion who has done ****!

Alvarez has steady taken on tougher opponents! he's still very young dont forget that......but.....

The reason why alvarez deserves to get paid 100 times more than berto deserves it is because alvarez has a huge fan base! In mexico and the united states! alvarez sells seats! he generates revenue so he should get paid no matter how good he is. if you generate revenue you deserve to get paid. ***en berto couldn't sell 3k seats in his hometown.

I don't know if Alvarez is overpaid. He does deliver ratings and sell tickets...Berto on the other hand....

          How is Saul overpaid?

He puts asses in the seats and gets great ratings

plus he is only a contender

he has a better resume at age 20 than your god pacquiao had, and new bandwagon donaire. kid can sell tickets and is fairly growing as a fighter, once he earns that belt and starts defending it against good opposition, we'll see if he's the real deal...for now, let him do his thing. berto is a 27 year old man who has had the wbc welterweight title since '08, who has he defended it against? canelo is just getting his (even though he doesn't deserve it just yet), so let's see how it goes from here....
