is alvarez the mexican version of berto (in terms of hype only)?

is the ginger kid the mexican version of berto (in terms of hype only)?

I'm not talking about styles or heart or skills... I'm talking about the hype that both got/are getting from the networks.

both getting way overpaid for fighting bums. both are fighting guys smaller than they are... the ginger fighting the smaller matt hatton... berto fighting jr WWs...

And both are getting mentioned next to guy like pac and wifebeater when neither have done ***** or have yet to fight anyone.

I feel that the networks (especiallly HBO) keeps on trying to force feed these 2 posers to boxing fans.

As badly hyped as Bradley and Alexander? I don't think so. Those 2 are top of my list.

alvarez is getting unfairly criticized here. Sure the belt up for grabs is a joke but that's not his fault (the WBC is to blame).

Further, his resume at the age of only 20 is far better than most anyone at the same age, if they are even pro's to begin with.

On top of that, he deserves hype because the kid can sell tickets and he gets ratings, something Berto has never been able to do.

I don't think so. Alvarez was already getting lots of hype in Mexico before he ever came to the U.S., or HBO period. And the boy has a lot of skills to back it up. He improves a lot each fight.

              bingo.

not to mention that Berto has had a title for a long time now and has fought crappy competition. Alvarez is still in prospect mode and its OK if hes not fighting the best guys.
After this BS title hes earning thats the end of that though.

Alexander yes. Bradley earned his spot. He may not have the most pleasing style but he beat his opponents decisively. And he will give Khan hell in a few months. Alvarez hasnt proven as much and Hatton.......LOL. It will be there for the world to see if Matthew pulls off a W. If Canelo wins easy then all this talk goes away for the moment.

Honestly, I don't think Bradley will give Khan much trouble. That is unless he flies in head first as always. I'm willing to bet heavily on that too.
