if drinking never affected any of his fights, then there's no argument for pavlik getting better and he should retire while he still has a decent record.

if he is definately coming back for the pac undercard , hope they still get at Brian Vera to match them up like they planned on it back in November.more than likely they prob think Vera would be too much of a live dog for a comeback fight.it would be a nice card,I think I would buy.

Obviously thats not true. He was reportedly in rehab until 10 days before the Martinez fight and then had to work like crazy on conditioning to get down to making weight. So, while the "drinking" might not have had an effect, obviously he didn't work as hard on strategy, skills, etc in his focus on conditioning to get down to weight.

Sounds like Pavlik is in denial, which means his problems with booze aren't over.

I read it differently. I thought he was trying to make sure no one takes anything away from Bernard & Sergio's wins over him by blaming alcohol. He said "it would be easy to say that, but it's just not true". I thought he was being classy and admitting that he lost those fights b/c they were the better man, not b/c of any problems he has outside the ring.

Just does not want to make excuses. He still lost the fights and he was not good enough in one way or another to win them.

Thats exactly what he is saying and everyone is looking to turn this into pavlik is delsional etc etc..

Pavlik is a straight forward fighter in the ring and hes straight forward as a man he is not making any excuses as far as alcohol being the reason he lost. Look out for pavlik to hit the comeback trail hard he is still a young man and he still has the heavy hands and the chin to bring him back in the depths of the middleweight division.. If pavlik comes in with a new state of mind he will be very dangerous PM me if you want to make bets when the super fights come because i see this fighter making his way back up
