Should fighters even waste their time fighting hopkins

can't be any more true.............Unfortunately no one has beat him cleanly yet besides roy jones. That's a testament to hopkins more than anything else. I mean if YOU want to give props to Calzaghe for that **** performance go right ahead, we all have our own opinions. Taylor gets some credit from me even though I didn't agree with the scoring, he held his own he was just HBO's new boy.
One of the reason why hopkins fans are a little irritated is that hopkins has never received one single decision in his favor in a close fight. Not one. Mayweather got one in Castillo. Pacquiao got a couple. Roy Jones got one. etc. Not hopkins
you haven't seen the fight then, hopkins, i thought, won a tough as fight, fighting above 10 thousand feet elevation is hard enough, let alone against a tough SOB in his hometown, amidst a revolution going on at that time in Ecuador....... don king was livid but really couldn't make a case because hopkins took that fight to mercado and was relentless......
i thought that it was 3 times klit went down, thought he went down twice in the 5th? now im just plain getting geeky with it.
well, one was a gift from the ref, the other was overshadowed by the fact that hopkins was walking him down the whole fight, no one really had any concern about the knockdown after hopkins keep applying pressure the whole fight.........
again, point well made...........
a lot of those names can be easily criticized, im not going there, but don't be delusional........... speaking as a manny fan, at least for now, it really depends on what manny does in the near future if im' going to keep rooting for him, enough with the catch weights, and enough with craft selecting opponents......... fight fans fights or retire, otherwise it's just a fleece.
i have to disagree, because of the level of opposition hopkins brings, he's still top dog in his division at his age, that says something for hopkins, obviously, and that says something about the perceived shallow talent pool in that division, which really isnt, but when you have an old guy beating young guys, it doesnt' say much about the up and coming generation.
and if a fighter is to lose to hopkins, they can say they lost to a great, and if they beat hopkins, decisively, then they can say that they were to the one to FINALLY BEAT HOPKINS CONVINCINGLY and maybe retiring him.
that is what the world would say, not people on here, don't get the two misconstrued, most people here are emotion filled and not using logic or reason, or common sense.
i just have to point out that all 3 judges did not in any way score the FIGHT, not a round, or a knockdown, but the fight as a whole, but 3 judges did not score the fight for pascal, 1 scored it for hopkins, the other two were playing quebec politics............
hopkins has given the boxing establishments their fair share of lumps and this is how they give it to him, by robbing him, making him wait until he expires from being a boxing elite, all of which hasn't deterred or stopped hopkins from laying on a beating to the establishments fighters........... boo bam!Comment

calzaghe was his peer? calzaghe was on the same level as omar narvaez is now. anyone who did see him fight dismissed him as a fraud because of all the early stoppages and bums he fought.Comment

The jokes would work if Hopkins had fought someone better than Carl Daniels instead of Calzaghe...Comment

they weren't even in the same division. why didn't calzaghe go to 160 or 175 if he wanted to fight? nope hide at 168 and fight bums! hopkins fought every top rated middleweight. calzaghe wouldn't even fight sven ottke come on now.Comment
