Donaire stay in the Philippines longer than in United States if he is not fighting. He is not asking for Filipino support. Pinoys supports him its just not as much as Manny. Donaire is pretty popular in the Philippines. He cannot match Pacs popularity but who does? its like Ali in the U.S. no one can match his popularity there but they still supported Tyson.

It's amazing how people "is in the know" of what other race/ethnic "think".

Did I miss anything or did the army in Brooklyn developed clairvoyance?

In my eyes he's an American but I don't blame the Filipinos for trying to claim him because half of us would probably do the same. I'm just saying though.
        LMFAO

where did you get this from?

because mexicans don't like oscar de la hoya so you think it's the same case for filipinos and filipino-american fighters?

donaire doesn't have as many filipino fans as pacquiao because pacquiao is more known and more popular.

has nothing to do with where he was raised.

I'm sure if you told Nonito or his family that they aren't American they would be upset. He's been here for majority of his life and his family struggled to come to America. I think 18 years is long enough to become an American. That being said he's a Filipino first but lets not diminish that all he really knows is American culture. There is no problem calling him a Filipino-American imo.

i agree! you are a moron. Asking Filipino fans to support him doesnt mean WE dont support him. He was unknown to Pinoy casual fans that time when he fought Darchinyan. Of course he would be asking for support. He lives in United States. Stay in United States round the clock so he needed to call out Filipino fans to support him. i didnt see anything wrong with that.
