It's not even a case of worse call or not, it's a case that I just think you cannot just grab a fighter gloves and tap it for them. If you're telling a fighter,'are you Ok', and the fighter is just standing there, you can't just grab his gloves and tap it for him/her LOL.

It probably happened so fast that the corner thought the ref was going to stop it. Anyway the ref is the third man in the ring so it's his call. The point is you cannot just grab a unresponsive fighter gloves and tap it for him/her if he/she can't do it LOL. That's like if a MMA fighter was fighting and the ref just took his hand and tap it out for him.

they can't. You're absolutely right. I made a couple threads about this after the fight. lots of people on this site have no idea what they are talking about.

If the fighter is unresponsive and does not come forward to the ref the rule is ref must stop the fight in order to protect the safety of the fighter. The people in this board keep talking about being a "warrior" and giving the champ the benefit of the doubt. Has nothing to do with that it's basic rules and safety.

I know that kevin Iole of yahoo boxing wrote about this and even formally complained to Keith Keizer of NSAC.

The corner is not going to do that because they probably thought that the ref was going to stop it. The ref was trying to get an answer from Montiel and he wasn't responding so the corner probably thought that the ref was going to stop it. The ref just grabbed Montiel gloves and tapped for him like he was doing it and let him continued LOL.
