    The referee last night

That was up there we ever with the worst ref jobs i have ever seen. You can say the ref didn't see montiel twitching, but he somehow got up and fell back down. It should have been stopped right there. Even worse is that montiel had ABSOLUTELY no clue where he was and what was going on. His body language was not there and was not responding to the ref. Looks like it was not enough and the ref instead physically took montiel's gloves and wiped them, and left montiel standing still for two free shots from nonito. I think this was a case when the ringside docs also ****ed up big time. They can say he was the champ and deserved a chance to go out on his shield, but look at what happened. He was rushed to the hospital after suffering what looked like a seizure, has what looks like a fractured face bone, and nothing has been said of his condition.

I just hope montiel is ok.

Don't you remember the way people complained when the Marquez vs Katsidis was stopped too early?

The Donaire vs Montiel fight was stopped perfectly. The referee was just giving Fernando a chance.

      Agree.

He tried to give the champion a chance, but stopped it once it was clear he wasn't going to fight back.

Nah...He did a good job. You give a champion in Montiel stature a chance. He did so and as soon Donaire followed up he stopped it immediately.

I thought it was pretty ****** too. When Donaire ran to him Montiel was just standing there like 'wtf why is this guy running towards me' lol.

Katsidis had no hope, was tired, was taking big shots, and was out on his feet. Would people have rather seen him twitching on the ground like montiel?

What chance did he give him when he was completely nonresponsive and it was the ref himself that had to wipe his gloves? The only chance he gave was to nonito to get two free shots against a limp and standing target.

I know the guy was the champ, but damn.

Montiel's body language gave him away. Dude was a standing target.

When the ref said give me your hands, Montiel had no idea what was going on. Bad stoppage honestly.

Bad job from the ref. How the hell are you going to grab a unresponsive fighter gloves and tap them for the fighter LMAO. The ref was like...show me that you're ok by tapping your gloves? Montiel was unresponsive so the ref was like here I'll do it for you haha.

Look at the footage again, montiel made some kind of shrugg and had his hands down and only put them up when he saw the punches coming.

                    Damn.
