Your right. Juanma is only a 5'5" midget.

But seriously, Donaire has a lot of good competition at his weight, no reason for him to move up so soon.

We also have to see how well he performs at 122 as well before we can start talking about Donaire vs Lopez or Gamboa or any other 126 pounder at the moment.

by next year i think juanma will be moving up to 130-135 he looks too big for featherweight. i honestly dont think juanma vs donaire will happen in the next 2 years.

The thing that stands out to me is something that I have seen few comment on. Both guys are equally talented, you would have to be to succeed at this level. What I see is the pedestal treatment in effect here. Just as Ortiz was being held up on a pedestal before the Maidana loss, JuanMa is being touted as this unbeatable force. I agree that he is talented, the Marquez win did impress me; however I feel that Arum knows that Gamboa could spark him out at any given moment, hence the hesitation to make that happen.

Donaire is a very smart fighter, from listening to him detail is approach to certain situations, I can tell that he is very analytical and adaptable in the ring. Montiel is a very, very good fighter but Donaire used space and agility to make the win look easy, he is very mature and cunning. Place your bets on him, he is my boy...Technically, he is better than Pac, Pac just has the spirit that few will ever have and the natural abilities that few will ever have too....the Philippines have a few stars to be proud of.

Donaire could make 126, he was heavy for the pre-weigh-in for this fight and he looked slightly flabby. He is pretty much the same size as JuanMa but his style and speed would allow him to catch JuanMa all night if he fought smart. I don't see a knockout unless JuanMa just goes all out in an attempt to KO Donaire. I think this may happen because Juanma is pampered in the sense that he is supposed to be the star, Donaire is living in the shadow of Pac.

**the star feels that they must live up to the hype, often tossing away lessons learned through experience in an attempt to live up to the hype they have been fed.

have you even seen juanma fight? he isn't slow like marg, but he's slow for a FW. JML don't win with his speed, but he wins because of his punching power, combination punching, and heart.

nonito would have a huge speed advantage over JML.

well, jml's size would be a big reason why jml would be the favorite in this fight, but stylistically nonito's speed and skills could neutralize it and make it nearly a 50/50 fight.

juanma is not an unbeatable force but donaire apparently is now because he ko'd montiel at 118. all im reading is how easy donaire would beat everyone at 122 and 126 lbs and he hasn't even fought at those weights yet. up until tonight donaire has been fighting bums since he beat darchinyan years ago so lets wait and see what he does with better competition like mares or agbeko before we crown him.

all this talk is premature anyway juanma vs donaire aint gonna happen anytime this year or maybe even next year.
