As a fighter who won catchweight titles and was afraid of needles and giving blood. Wow.... my hero! Ha ha ha! Nah on the real though, I enjoyed Manny when he fought at the lower weights and particulary his fights with Marquez. Him moving up is a big accomplishment but his biggest fight at WW (Miguel Cotto) was not as good as it could have been at 147. Cotto is Pac's best win at 147 and it wasn't even at the official weight. Then he moves up to 154 to fight for a vacant title (again at a catchweight) against a non ranked fighter who got caught cheating prior. Manny does make for exciting fights and I think that is basically where all the hype comes from. Dude hasn't fought any fighters outside of Top Rank in YEARS. How can everyone act like this is not suspect?

I beg to differ there. Roy Jones Jr did the same thing as Pacquiao. When Roy Jones fought James Toney, Toney had already said that he was struggling to make the 168 lbs weight limit and wanted to fight at 175 lbs. Well, Roy made him fight at 168 lbs so Toney was completely weight drained. Same thing everyone who hates Pacquiao says about the Cotto fight, although that was only two pounds less than 147 lbs and Cotto fought along time at 140 lbs.
Roy Jones Jr moved up to heavyweight and cherry picked John Ruiz, the worst heavyweight belt holder in history. Same thing everyone who hates Pacquiao says about his 'junior welterweight' title fight against Margarito, that is was a cherry picked title. When Roy was in his prime at 175 lbs, he fought alot of guys but didn't fight some important ones, like Sven Ottke, Chris Eubank, Steve Collins and Joe Calzaghe off the top of my head. All them called Roy out and he never fought them...

At welterweight, Pacquiao has fought Cotto, Clottey and now Mosley. Next he will fight most likely JMM since everyone is demanding he fight him if Floyd is still not available. So, other than those four guys, who has Manny not fought in the top 5 at welterweight other than Andre Berto, who is ranked lower than Shane Mosley at welterweight? Only Floyd Jr. and when Manny was fighting at smaller weights, he fought Lehlohonolo Ledwaba (whom all the sports writers were high on and Manny took that fight on short notice and was set up to lose), Morales 3 times, Barrera twice, JMM twice and Ricky Hatton on his way up.

So, you can say that Roy Jones fought more competition on his rise to pound for pound, but Manny has fought the best available most of the time more often.

Hey, I'm reminding you, Floyd has choices. He doesn't have to fight
Pac if that is what he feels. Anyone you have in mind other than
Pac for Floyd? Let's be real here.

Well, Floyd Jr would shut my ass up if he fought Sergio Martinez but that will never happen. Floyd Jr only moved up once to fight ODLH and came back down. So, realistically, other than Manny, Floyd Jr could fight Berto or Amir Khan (if he beats Bradley and moves up like he says he will) and that's about it. For Manny, other than Berto and JMM (he won't fight Amir Khan due to both being trained by Roach), there is nobody left for Pacquiao to fight either. But you gotta think if Floyd Jr ever comes back (or is forced to regarding money issues), he won't jump into a fight with Pacquiao. He will pick someone he would look spectacular against and shut the guy out before even thinking of going against the Pacman...

Nah, Shane wasn't unbeaten when Floyd fought him but Shane was coming off of a sensational KO win over Antonio Margarito when Pac ducked him. If you think Shane wasn't half the fighter he was against Floyd then what about the Shane Pac is fighting? Compare what boxing analyst Dan Rafael said (Biggest Mayweather hater) said about when Floyd fought him and what he thinks about Pacquiao fighting Shane.....

Mayweather, however, has a chance to at least shush the critics now that he is finally going to face an elite welterweight in champion Shane Mosley

From day one, Top Rank promoter Bob Arum had an agenda when it came to making Manny Pacquiao's next fight. He wanted to match him with Shane Mosley, and that is what he did, and he doesn't give a damn what anyone thinks.

He knows Mosley is an aging fighter who doesn't have a great chance to win, but he has a big name that general sports fans recognize, even if they don't realize he is not the same Shane Mosley of just a few years ago.

Arum doesn't care. He only wants to do what is best for himself, certainly not for boxing. He is going to put Mosley in the ring with Pacquiao soley because of name. It's a move that will squeeze out the last gasps of Mosley's once-outstanding career so Arum can generate another big payday while doing a disservice to real boxing fans who actually care about the matchups and not just a famous but faded name.

the only unique thing about pac is he ges all these accolades for basically never facing anybody in their prime and the times he did like jmm for instance he pretty much got his ass kicked. , barrrera coming off a trilogy with 6 losses and 60 fights at the time pac fought him, morales coming off losing a trilogy after 50 fights at the time he faced pac,a shot delahoya, shot overrated hatton coming off ko loss to mayweather, cotto after being destroyed by margs ,margs after being destroyed by mosley, now mosley after being destroyed by mayweather sounds like a bunch of recycled leftovers to me. pac is simply a overhyped right place and time fighter who ducks and runs away anytime its time to face a real threat, and provides all these ****** non-sensial resons as to why he wont fight. like berto, williams ,martinez, even jmm, angulo, mosley before he lost to mayweather, mayweather himself , no drug tests , frankly i dont see the greatness in pacyow apparantly he a great entertainer though.

So, who would you have picked over Mosley? JMM or Berto? Fair enough however the casual fan knows Shane Mosley and with the promotion behind this fight, it will be big. People know Shane Mosley as the only guy to beat ODLH twice and shake Mayweather down to his shoes. JMM or Berto PPVs may have been close to $1 Million PPVs but this will go way beyond that, even though Mosley didn't look good in his last fight. Remember, Mosley is an up and down fight. He looked shot against Mayorga but looked spectacular against Margarito. Not many were giving Mosley a chance in the Marg fight either. Manny (or Arum) picked the guy he can make the most money against and with the CBS promotional push, people like my father (who pretty much could give two ****s about boxing) will be interested to see it. It's not the best fight for us hardcore fans but it's the biggest money fight available...

thats the biggest lie " there is nobody left for pacyow to fight" of course there is !! since when has pac cleaned any division out??? since never! the only thing pac is running out of is old ready -for- retirement home fighters that were at their best over a decade ago thats the truth! theres plenty of great fights left but pac doesnt want those because hell probly lose hes self obsessed too and doesnt want a loss thats why he faces nothing but has-beens and bums. he had the choice unbeated champion berto, jmm whos whupped pac twice already, or a winless in 2 years 40 year old mosley who did he choose??? the easiest most garbage farce of a fight in mosley! if people cant see through the hype then your just lying to yourselves.the isnt hate this is the total truth , since when is the truth hate??????

Really, you are insane! I could see anyone scoring either fight one round either way but saying he got his ass kicked is ridiculous! Who ended up on the deck FOUR times? In my opinion (and most people who think Pac won), that was the difference in both fights! Saying Pacquiao got his ass kicked by JMM makes you out as a hater. I like Pac but I would never say he kicked JMMs ass. Both fights were really close but Pac hits harder and that was the difference betweens wins and loses in those fights. Live with it...,
