  • As a guy who has always respected JMM, this seems awfully quirky to me and it is really starting to turn me against him. I mean, to me it's already a bitch move that he is letting Morales do heavy lifting for him by fighting arguably the most dangerous guy in the division (and I say that because Maidana would've probably stopped Khan if that fight had went another round).

This is a shady move on one hand because it's bad to make a guy go all the way out of his way to a foreign territory to be underneath your wing as a pupil and then you dump him. But then again, if JMM is really planning on fighting him it makes sense. But I don't see that because JMM is getting ready to leave GBP. So that makes it a big ho move if JMM doesn't fight him now. Man, I swear with this guy. All he wants to do it seems like is ride the coat tails of Pacquiao instead of carving out his own legacy and that is something that has always gotten on my nerves about JMM even as a fan. And I have this opinion regardless of who I had beating who in their fights.

yeah, and both amir and manny got good sparring sessions from their last outings (and in the past) since both of them are handled by roach... it could do well also on both marquez and maidana if they share the same trainer...

conflict of interest is really not the issue here... its marquez being like an 8 year old throwing tantrums whenever he don't get what he wants...

            • to all the cry babies in here, marquez had already stated last week on golpe a golpe espn that he was going to talk to nacho about not training maidana because he could possibly be facing him in the future.

                • Marquez has every right to let Beristain know that he can't be training a fighter that Marquez could very likely fight in the near future. For that reason I think it is reasonable that Marquez would have such concerns.

The problem here is what Nacho did. He should have had talked to Marquez before and found out how big of an issue it really was for Marquez. Instead, he gives Maidana the green light and Maidana travels all the way to Mexico, only to realize that now Nacho won't train him. That is just wrong.

                    • Marquez didn't want to be a stepping stone for Khan so I don't understand why he would want to fight Maidana. I bet this has got to do something with Maidana getting the payday to fight Morales instead of him and of course Nacho still getting a slice of that payday.
