Yes, the champ, yes he was a good fighter, but a great big guy beats a great little guy. I never said Tyson wasn't great, he just doesn't compare to Pacquiao in any way, skills or resume. Pacquiao's defense is just as good, he throws better combinations, and most importantly, he's got a much bigger heart and better conditioning. Tyson's got the edge in power, but it's not like Pacquiao's a pillowfist. Manny's just better.
In terms of skills. Tyson has the better defence as he is alot harder to hit clean than Pacquiao is due to the peek a boo defence and superior head movement. Tyson is a much better combination puncher than Pacquiao. Pacquiao with the exception of the Hatton fight tends to break fighters down before stopping them whilst Tyson gets the KO much earlier. Tyson is also the superior body puncher. Prime Tyson who trained hard had great conditioning.

I agree Pac has the better resume but the threads about skills. Can you not tell the differance between the two?

Also do you not see Tyson becoming the youngest hevayweight champion of all time as an achievement? To do what he did at his age required alot of skill and dedication. Pacquiao as great as he is took alot longer to reach his prime. Also with Tyson he never reached his full potential. If he had stuck with Rooney we would be looking at the GOAT.

First off. Saying Tyson is not as great as PAC is not sayig that Tyson accomplished nothing, so stop being all hurt. In terms of accomplishment, manny and Tyson isnt even close to close.

About tyson's d and conditioning, they were terrible. Douglas, and the only a fighters Tyson ever fought tagged him cleanly and repeatedly. Tyson faded in every tough fight he ever had.

Sure he looked good ko'ing c level fighters and his d looked great when dudes were pissing their pants across from him. Aybe you'd have a better grasp if manny fought more Davis diaz's and a couple Henry bruselese so the comparisons would be more accurate with the defense.

So your whole hypothesis is based on what would have happened but doesn't account for what actually did happen (Douglas/holyfield).

You're a real winner. I'm glad you taught me something tonite.
        Ahh you're quite cute

So this topic is about something which does not and can never have a definitive answer, yet you bash my opinion, of which a lot of people may agree with?

Pre 135 I would put him in the same bracket as JMM, IMO

The recent handpicked/depleted oppenant era for me hasnt proved too much.

Tyson's my favorite fighter of all-time, but Manny is by far better than he is as a fighter.

Sorry Kiddo but this isn't even close and shouldn't even be up for discussion.

So silly to compare a little guy with the baddest boxer in the World... Tyson would of used Pacman as toilet paper if they ever met.
