LOL, Kevin Iole FLIP-FLOPS, new article compares Pacquiao to Muhammad Ali

Remember, Kevin Iole who said he will BOYCOTT Pacquiao-Mosley, look now at his new article entitled:

Like Ali, Pacquiao’s greatness transcends boxing
    Kevin Iole
By Kevin Iole, Yahoo! Sports 2 hours, 33 minutes ago

Fifty years after Muhammad Ali's rise to greatness, the story is unfolding again with a new central figure.

    Here are some excerpts:

This is the story of a young man with an incredible gift for boxing, who rose from humble beginnings to become the best, most popular, fighter in the world. He was fast, agile and had an uncanny awareness of what was happening in the ring.

He fought all comers, big and small, and was soon lauded the world over for his magnificent skills.

But as wondrous as his boxing talents were, he transcended the sport and became an international figure because of his work outside of the ring.

Fifty years ago, the story was about Muhammad Ali. Today, it is about Manny Pacquiao.

The men took opposing routes to reach their status. Ali was a controversial and divisive figure whose personal beliefs overshadowed his magnificent boxing ability. Pacquiao’s stunning rise through eight weight classes and his ability to defeat men much larger put a microscope on his efforts to aid the people of his homeland.

    ...

On Thursday in Los Angeles, the first stop of a press tour to promote pay-per-view sales of the fight with Mosley, the fire marshal closed the ballroom and wouldn’t allow any more media to enter.

On Saturday at the MGM Grand, the second stop of the tour was held and nearly 1,000 fans showed up to see Pacquiao and ask him a question.

His fan base outside of the Philippines now includes persons of every race, religion and nationality.

    ...

Like Ali, Pacquiao has become one of the greatest boxers ever.

But also like Ali, his boxing accomplishments are overshadowed by his social influence and his significance as a world figure.

Watch Dan Rafael in a few days, he'll say this is the toughest test of Pacquiao's career because Mosley is black.

Main reason why I don't like following the media. It's a complete joke.

Here is Kevin Iole's original article on Dec 22, 2010 where he labels Pacquiao-Mosley as UTTER GARBAGE

Drank the kool-aid now, I guess?

Three months after saying Shane Mosley was too old, Bob Arum is hailing him as the right guy for Manny Pacquiao.

The article is about Pacquiao's Aliesque transcendence of the sport of Boxing and how his social impact trumps his in-ring exploits. Where exactly does he flip-flop on the issue of the Pacquiao-Mosley matchup?

Pacquiao is as great as Ali for sure.

Record 8 world titles in diferent weight classes. Something noone has come close to ever doing. Beaten ATGs MAB, Morales, JMM, De La Hoya and loads of HOFers also. Pacs will add another in Mosley in May.

If was any other fighter other than Ali I would be fine but Ali is in a league of his own in that regard.

I have yet to see Manny take a controversial stance that he truly believes in and be the one of the main figures in that political discussion.

You can't be compared to Ali if you want everyone to like you like you are Micheal Jordan (IMO)

He's not claiming that Pacquiao is like Ali in that he is controversial or making a political stand, I think he makes the distinction between the two in that regard pretty clearly. He's just saying that both men's lives and impact outside of the ring supersede what they do inside of it.

Whereas Ali took a stand against the government for his religious beliefs and paid the ultimate professional price for it, Pac is using the government to better the lives of his people. Two sides of the same coin.

No it isn't, Pacquaio became a politician to benefit his own ambitions he has said he wanted that for a while.

Big difference between that and what Ali did. It is the difference between being selfish (I can help the people with my success) or selfless (I will do what I think is right at my own expense)

Micheal Jordan could win a political seat it doesn't make him Ali.
