he was a good boxer, I still remember like nobody gave calzaghe a chance, so many on here now calling him a bum were calling him a mini tyson and a future great. after calzaghe showed his class, they tried to discredit calcaghes win by calling lacy a bum

i watched that fight just yesterday incidentaly, just came across it on manglers youtube page and checked it out. all i could think was lacy has to be one of the most overhyped fighters in the history of boxing, i mean the guy is so flawed its not even funny and on top of that he never beat a single top fighter. his best win is either syd vanderpool or a washed up robin reid ffs.

dont get me wrong the man was an olympian and a world champion, but amateur boxing is a different sport and we know how little alphabet straps mean these days. to win one is still somewhat impressive, its proof u are one of the five or atleast ten best fighters in the division. but thats not stuff of legends. lacy was a decent fighter but nothing special. deal with it.

are u on crack? roy jones had been washed up for half a decade when he fought calzaghe, the whole world except the most passionate calzaghe nuthuggers dismissed that fight the second it was made. roy fought joe in late 2008, his last quality win was in 2003 against antonio tarver. since then he fought 3 big fights, he got KO'd in 2 by tarver and dominated over 12 in the rubber match and inbetween that he was dominated and knocked out (cold) by glen johnson.

also joe didnt spark out roy or lacy, do u even know what it means to spark someone? it means to knock them out, which he didnt do. and if u think he deserved the decision against hopkins i respect your opinion, but to say he destroyed him just isnt true.

i get it u like calzaghe, but try to have some common sense ffs. roy was a corpse, lacy never did shit his whole career and to say joe destroyed hopkins is pure nonsense. however he fought a great fight and proved he is a good fighter, or he wouldnt be able to push hopkins that much even at such a late stage in BHops career. eubank is another good win and kessler wasnt bad either.

He was the "thin" line in between bum and decent.. He could hit pretty hard but he could really make a B class fighter look like he was having an A+ fighters' night. In the end he was overrated, and it showed
