On boxing scene he will become a bum who never was good to begin with. In reality it depends on who he fights and how long he will be out of the ring when he does fight. Mayweather will always be considered an atg talent who avoided tough fights wether that is fair or not.

Well so far his legacy is so so. So he hasnt got much to lose, only things to gain.
If he fights someone great next, and loses, is it that bad if he loses to a great fighter? I dont think so. If that zero means a lot to him, then it will be bad for him personally. But that zero to most boxing fans means nothing.

The same thing that happened to Aaron's Pryor's legacy when he lost to Bobby Joe Young.

Meaning, not much - Floyd is past prime and very inactive.

he can always use that " oh i hurt my hand " excuse....lol.. people would prolly say "his ducking finally caught up with him therefore sealing the claim that he avoided tough fights.....
