if fans want to see a jmm-pac 3 and this makes that fight happen , how is it bad for the sport?

you know what was bad for the sport? hbo giving gbp blank dates for **** fights , while promoters that weren't gbp couldn't get hbo dates for some good matchups.

that was bad for the sport.

GBP must be doing something really wrong that people are leaving them.
Fighters move all the time. Floyd and Oscar moved from Top Rank to finally get paid, after all. What's sad, though, is that one company is essentially blackmailing fighters to get them fights. Damn, I feel - and fear - for the sport sometimes.

Yeah, that's bad for the sport as well. Just as bad as TR making independent PPV's because they didn't want to pit Cotto against Berto. It's all bad, man. And Marquez - nor any other fighter - shouldn't have to do that in order to make a fight. Simple.

oscar wasn't getting paid under top rank?

            that's news to me.

floyd yeah. uncle bob didn't/couldn't get him paid. oscar was well taken care of though. hence why he came back to top rank for a bit after leaving the 1st time.

Marquez was obviously pissed off (no pun intended) with GBP for yet again scuttling his chances at a third Pac fight. The first time out was when Pac-Floyd fell through on January 2010 and JMM was considered by Top Rank. But Schaeffer asked for 50-50 with OSDT for JMM, the very same conditions that led to the Floyd fight disintegrating. Then, after Margarito, Schaeffer submitted a tender for a Pac-JMM fight asking for an amount that was several times higher than what GBP itself paid Marquez for facing Mayweather.

Marquez obviously realizes now that he won't ever get that third fight as long as he is with GBP.

man , don't even bring up berto. when berto finally fights someone , then i'll mention him.

making independent ppv's is not a bad thing. it gives the fans an option on whether to buy it or not.

at least it doesn't mess with hbo programming and takes up hbo dates (which are free for us hbo subscribers)

                  LOOOL!!!

Apart from that agree with everything you wrote. Marquez is choosing himself, good for him.

Either way, both made bigger earnings when they left.
