Gus Johnson is out of his element in boxing.

He's much better for football and basketball.

I like Gus but I like my announcers excitable. I think as Gus watches more fights he will get better, although he is always going to be a sucker for flashy stuff.

The rest of them are all pretty good.

I liked how Gus said Froch "shocked the boxing world" by beating Taylor. Froch was a prohibited +120 underdog.

Still, at least he adds some emotion and enthusiasm to the broadcast, as opposed to Bob Papa. Papa is boring, I'll take Gus over him.

I prefer Steve Albert over Gus though.

And I'm totally pleased that Ferdie Pacheco is no longer on Showtime.

They're better than the HBO commentators. Last few fights I've seen on HBO, they were more concered with telling stories and anecdotes and not actually commenting on what was going on. Sky Sports commentary is good, they usually concentrate on the action punch by punch.

I have ehard him a few times before and always liked him, but now I have heard him a lot more, I think he is pretty good.

I love Bernstein. Farhood is good, as is their former SHOBOX blow-by-blow commentator Nick Charles. Tarver is excellent. I don't care for Gus Johnson, Curt Menafee, or Steve Albert but all are tolerable.
