Helenius has much more amateur experience than Wilder, so thats irrelevant.

I dont think much of Wilder either, but at least give him some time to develop.

Tremendous gifts, but he obviously has terrible management. Teddy Atlas was spot on in all his criticisms on FNF.

He needs a new trainer and team if he's going to make it. I feel like his management just wants to line him up against bums until he gets a title shot and cash out.

He wont make it to even HBO BAD unless he improves his fundamentals.

I don't think Teddy is correct at all, the most important thing to Wilder is truly training to become a real fighter, the fights at this point are just there as a goal for his training.

How he looks currently is of no concern to me because he should not really get a shot for at least 3.5 years and really the slower they take it with him the better.

He could be good or he could be nothing it all depends on him, no one else.

Deontay's opponent in the vid looks like the NSB poster Dino. He's a beer chugging, fast food gorging, trailer park slob. Wilder, and his team, should be embarrassed to face such a subpar opponent. I mean, people in this forum criticize Tyson for fighting stiffs early on in his career but this guy is so god awful he makes Mike's early opponent look like elite level competition.

Tyson was much more prepared for the pro game from fight 1 than Wilder currently is even after a bunch of pro fights.

It is not an easy task to build a guy like Wilder, who was raw as they come and the process was never going to look smooth or be quick.

He is still years away not to mention all the hard work
