    to begin with,

because they've been in with far superior competition, seen more styles, fought 15 round fights, and had a different mentality. they really wanted to prove they're the best or die trying.

todays best guys go on vacation, fight lightweights at ww or fight dudes that draw with the latin fake in their last fight.

I don't hate you idiot. I don't ***ride like your little clique that only knows about floyd mayweather. there are some guys around who would be competitve since those guys (sweet pea, chavez, etc).

        Leonard by decision.

Floyd's a tough fight for anyone in history so I'm not going to just assume every big name prior to him would KO him, but guys like Leonard and Hearns would be guys today I believe Floyd would find a way not to fight due to their styles. There isn't anyone on Floyd's resume that can hold a candle to Hearns or in this case Leonard. He had speed, combination punching, more power at WW, good on his feet, ring smarts, and could box you or fight you. He had a hell of an arsenal.

Though you have to give Mayweather a shot, I believe many of the people who pick him to win this fight are solely relying on their devotion towards being a fan of Floyd's.

Hater. Floyd would have many more KO's with 3 more rounds. Have you ever even seen him get tired? No. Its not ***ridin when you give facts to back it up. It is ***ridin when you start talkin about they would die trying to win. I saw Hearns turn and run before. I saw SRL get on his mopad against Duran, which was a smart move. I saw Duran throw his hands up and quit in that same fight. So dont give me that blood and guts, die trying ****. To say Mayweather and a handfull of other fighters couldnt compete is nothin but hatred and ***ridin.

Leonard. If they were naturally the same size, it'd be a more fair comparison. Still, I think Mayweather is skilled and smart enough to make it competitive. While Leonard was one of the great finishers ever, I don't think he gets Mayweather out of here, even if he does hurt him. Mayweather is very intelligent and resourceful, and also not prone to repeating mistakes he makes during the fight.

            Leonard 8-4 type decision.

Very difficult fight to gauge. SRL had all of the skills to beat Floyd, but one thing I havent seen anyone talk about that is just as important as SRL's skills is that he did NOT have the ring IQ that Floyd has at WW. THAT my friends would be a huge difference maker. I cant really call it. As a kid SRL was my favorite Boxer, as a adult I truely admire Floyd's skills. I call a Draw.

Leonard was a very smart boxer too.

The story goes that Duran lured Leonard into a brawl in Montreal with his trash talk, but I also credit Duran for cutting off the ring and not allowing Leonard to use his legs that much. Also, Leonard traditionally fought more in a flat-footed and aggressive manner anyway. He changed up his style for the rematch and was fleet-footed (and later for Hagler).

I really don't see much showing Leonard lacking a high ring IQ. He wouldn't have been as a great of a fighter and achieved as much as he did if he weren't an intelligent fighter.

                    This.

Tough finding people at 130 or 135 that you could say beyond a shadow of a doubt could beat Floyd. But at WW, you've got guys like SR Leonard, Hearns, Robinson, etc that Floyd could avoid for 12 rounds and still get off enough offense to win. Though even at WW, given Floyd's defense, chin and ability to recover from a shot, I still like his chances of going the distance against everyone except maybe Hearns (and even against Tommy, Floyd goes the distance more than not IMO.)

Because they all fought each other. Its impossibleto take punishment if you're not fighting anyone
