Not sure what Liles-Nunn has to do with it. Everyone is different. Hopkins clearly struggled with the altitude and Mercado, while a rough customer, lost handily IMO. I counted at least two KD's for Hopkins that weren't scored as well. Either way, I don't think he was "green." As good as he was in his prime? Nope. But then again, neither was Jones when he fought Bernard.Comment

if roy jones fought james toney only when he turned 30, would you consider that his prime?
maybe starts his career at about 25Comment

Roy beat a non-prime Hopkins. good win? sure. Great win? no.
example: Larios and Vasquez fought years before either of them were prime: Im not going to give Vasquez that much credit for that early victory over Larios, despite the fact he was also young.Comment

Im not going to give Roy credit for beating a prime Hopkins when Hopkins was NOT prime, even if Roy wasnt really either(despite the fact arguably his best performance of his career was not too long after the Hopkins fight). It doesnt work like that.

Its Jones' performance against Toney that personally tells me the Toney fight was his prime, not the victory over Toney on its own.Comment

roy jones jr has NO legacy at 160,,168,,175 or over 200 pounds because he never fought the elite fighters at any weight division he boxed in.
roy jones jr won a vacant middleweight title and made 1 defence he never fought the best at 160 at that time
Jorge Fernando Castro
John David Jackson
Reggie Johnson
Chris Pyatt and he Ducked/Dodge the two elite fighters of the division Julian Jackson and Gerald McClellan
A list of the elite fighters at 168 that roy jones was Ducked/Dodge when he was in that division
Graciano Rocchigiani
Steve Collins 2 weight champion at the time
Nigel Benn 2 weight champion at the time
Michael Nunn 2 weight champion at the time
chris eubank 2 weight champion at the time
Charles Brewer
Frankie Liles
Robin Reid
BEST at 175 was Dariusz Michalczewsk
roy jones won the vacant wbc title vacanted by Fabrice Tiozzo.
Fabrice Tiozzo lost his wba title to Virgil Hill then came back and beat Mike McCallum for the WBC light heavyweight title.
Dariusz Michalczewski beat Virgil Hill for the undisputed light heavyweight championship and holds the record for the most consecutive successful title defenses at light heavyweight 23 defenses. He was champ for 9 years an had a incredible 48 and 0 winning run
roy jones ducked prime Dariusz Michalczewski for 8 years and did not fight him even when he was shot
why did he fight 35yo taver instead of Michalczewski?...........
why did he fight ruiz instead of lennox lewis?..........
roy jones legacy will be remembered as the most protected fighter in history and a drugs cheating, chinny weight hopper that ain,t got a division to claim
Dariusz Michalczewski
joe calzaghe
lennox lewis and bernard hopkins can all claim to be the best fighers in their divisions history.
Too the people that hype on about prime jones jr take off the rose tinted glasses he lost too a bunch of old guys anyway
Antonio Tarver was 35
Glen Johnson 35
Danny Green 35
Bernard Hopkins 45 and joe calzaghe was 36 and at the very end of his career.
prime roy jones jr was “unstoppable” you could not stop the guy from Ducking and Dodging fighters but the beatings he was Ducking and Dodging caught up with him.
His paper win over Toney doesn't mean shitComment
