Comments Thread For: Wladimir Klitschko on David Haye's legacy: 'What legacy?'

Wladimir Klitschko defends his WBO, IBF and IBO heavyweight titles in Germany on April 30 yet the Ukrainian has more than just his challenger, Derek Chisora, on his mind. Wlad, 55-3 (49), is still smarting over the failure to secure a unification fight with WBA title-holder David Haye. The 34-year-old has told the BBC that Haye needs the fight in order to secure a heavyweight legacy.

David HAYE has a great heavy weight legacy!Haye defeated, crushed and ANIHILATED
the man MOUNTAIN BEAST FROM THE EAST,standing 9 feet tall and weighing 600 lbs VALUEV who every one know was the mightiest of all the champions the hardest punching of all the heavy weights who was super fast ,had great boxing skill and beat all the top contenders. Then he smashed young John Ruiz ,who was hard hitting ,a slick boxer with great defensive skilled and was defeating all the top boxer put in front of him for the past 3 years. Then HAYE deafeated the awesome super heavyweight Audely Harrison ,who was an increadible fighter and fights like a spartan warrior without fear and tons of heart!.Only the mighty DAVID HAYE could have single handley beat these 3 mighty heavy weights!

Oh,didn't you know? He was the undisputed Cruiserweight champion(even though he never actually unified the division). He then went to Germany and fought the largest(and possibly the most imobile) champion of all time and beat him by a devestating majority decision. The fastest heavyweight since Ali at his peak, and the most ruthless and vicious since Jack Dempsey.

With all that Wlad has done, does he realize that most remember him for boring us to death against Ibragamov and getting KOed by Corrie Sanders?

Not being mean, but seriously, those are the bouts that come to mind when I think about Wlad.

Wlad's legacy is that of the greatest heavyweight of his era.A man who has virtually cleaned his division of all credible contenders, who has consistently fought top opposition for over a decade, and a heavyweight who still appears to be at the top of his game - despite him being in his mid 30's and having fought professionally for over fourteen years.

No doubt a top ten heavyweight great at this point.David Haye could only dream of achieving the same level of success that Wlad has.
