But he's not, so his plan to trade power punches with little regard for defense is ultiamtly what lost him the fight.

His face was a bloody mess, Lewis caused 5 seperate cuts, and kept working on the largest one until it was stopped.

Like I tell every nut hugger in every thread like this that pops up twice a month, what the score cards say in a 6 round fight that's stopped as a TKO are meaningless.

Vitali lost. It's over, it's been two years, and all the crying and sugar coating in the world isn't going to change it.

    Time to move on.
Your wrong trading power punches wasnt what lost Vitali the fight, it's what had him ahead 58-56 because he was outgunning Lewis in every round in every category, including power punches landed. What lost him the fight was the grazing right hand in round 3, that started the beginning of the end. You really think that if Vitali hadn't been cut that he would've lost? Seriously, for the first two rounds, everyone could've swore and upset was just a couple of rounds ahead, but no body predicted a cut, that looked worse than any every witnessed in boxing before.

One more thing I didn't make this thread to dispute who won the fight, I made this thread to show evidence that Lewis was fully prepared, and put on extra weight to push on Kirk Johnson. I also wanted to point out that Lewis was not un motivated like many of you claim, because he still had plans of fighting Roy Jones, Mike Tyson, and Wladimir Klitschko, as you witnessed in the interview. All that bull**** about him being over the hill, overweight, un motivated was just excuses all of you Lewis nuthuugers used for his retirement and bad performance. When the real issue was that he was afraid of getting KOed in the rematch with Vitali.

Couldn't agree more with bozo. All the numbers and facts in the world won't change a thing. Vitali lost on cuts, there's nothing more too it.

And me and bozo never said Lewis outboxed Vitali, we said he beat Vitali at a "slugfest". Again, I'm taking nothing away from VK, he fought a good fight, but theres a reason they call Lennox "The Lion", he ****ed up Vitali's face DURING the fight, not before, not after, DURING the fight.

He won the fight. END OF STORY.

LOL you dont win a slugfest by losing 4 rounds to 2 and getting outpunched by twice as much as you land. Lewis won that fight, because he grazed Vitali's eyebrow and caused a cut. A cut that was gonna get worse despite anything he did, the rubbing with hair, targetting the eye section, was just a technique to sooner finish the fight.

        Vitali won the slugfest
        Vitali won the fans
        Vitali won the judges

What Vitali didnt win is the fight. Everything else is in his credit.

No, the power behind the shots landed were what was more significant. Lewis was the bigger puncher by far and that was the key difference.

Your hypothetical "What if he hadn't been cut" assertion is as meaningless as pointing out the score cards in a fight that was stopped.

Lewis landed the more telling shots in the fight, without question. Vitali put up a good effort, but his chance came and went in the 2nd round.

That interview is also a moot point, because Lewis didn't lose the fight.

But acting like it holds any relevence in the point you think your making is also pretty funny, because what would you expect Lewis to say? That he's feeling out of shape and thinking that the year off may hurt him?

He was 37 years old, and Vitali had his chance to pull off the upset but couldn't pull the trigger.

They stood toe to toe, Lewis landed the harder shots and Vitali lost by TKO.

There's really nothing more to add to it.

If you it makes you and others feel better about him losing by pointing out that Lewis was in top shape, I'm happy for you.

It doesn't change the fact he clearly lost the fight.

            3rd time:

Saying this guy won the slug fest:

            is non sense.

Lewis landed the harder punches in the fight.

He won the slug fest, and despite anything else you try to mention to make yourself feel better, he won the fight.

            That's the bottom line.

I think he would have retired even if he KOed Vitali in the first round so I disagree with you on this.

I do disagree with you, because Lewis retired having beaten everyone he ever faced, including Vitali.

I'll tell you that the American flag is red white and blue, and you will tell me its green orange and yellow. Do you know what a slugfest is? Let me explain to you, its two fighters trading non stop shots in the middle of the ring. And do you know how a slugfest is won? By one fighter outlanding the other fighter causing them to LOSE ROUNDS, I cant stress that enough. Is that soooo hard for you to figure out? Your judging Vitali's face by the blood, a cut can happen anytime and a fighter can lose to a cut anytime, but it doesnt mean they were losing the fight or slugfests because they have blood drippind down there face.
