Well Iron Mike already explained that to you but oh well then, and so what if he fought Vitali that doesn't mean he beat Byrd and Ruiz, thats a poor excuse and Byrd was a southpaw - something Lewis hated. You can keep saying that, it wont make it any more true. The proof is in the pudding of Lewis being paid $4m to stay away from Tyson. It doesnt get much more blatant than that.

Regardless, theres nothing in the WBC rules that states a fighter coming out of prison is automatically no1 contender for the championship.

Funny, Tyson didnt fight either of them. They wanted to milk that cash cow by fighting soft touches for as long as possible. Thats why they avoided Lewis and other threats to fight Bruno, SeLOLdon and what they thought was a washed up Holyfield.

He took Tyson and the wbc to court to force Tyson to fight him. Tyson wanted to fight Mercer at the time, but Lewis knew he was going to lose so he took them to court, hence:

Lewis has also requested that the WBC remove Tyson from the mandatory challenger's position if he does fight.

"Iron Mike" is scheduled to fight Ray Mercer next month, probably at Atlantic City, New Jersey before being expected to take on Lewis in the spring.

But the lawsuit contends that the Mercer clash could hurt Lewis financially if such a contest goes ahead.

The suit, which also names the WBC as a defendant, was filed in US District Court in Manhattan on Tuesday.

Tyson replied in a statement the following day that he was "outraged by Lennox's attempt to interfere with my career."

"I stepped aside as the WBC challenger in November to allow the rematch with Rahman.
