this is going to be like cotto - jennings, jennings was 34-1 and had quite a high ranking but he got stopped in the 5th and this was cotto's fight after the margarito one, so even though jennings had a good record he was still just a tune up.

personally i dont think khan will lose in the light welterweight division, i think maidana was his biggest threat but he's past him.

McCloskey is a good boxer. Hes not quite good enough to beat Khan though.

I'm switching allegiance to McCloskey for this fight.

Made my decision cos I got friends from his home county so we're looking at getting tickets and going to see it.

Likely get a few jars in later too.

I rate Paul McCloskey, he certainly isnt the type of boxer id want to fight for a "warm up" fight. But fair play to Kahn as hes been stepping up his opposition and isnt prepared to fight an utter bum as tune up.
In reguards to other posts saying that Paul has only fought bums, take a look at the recent list of American fighters who were supposedly great then got beaten (not to mention how flat Bradley looked..and how bad Alexander looked in his last two fights).
Kahn should win this fight just on his work rate (thats what got him through the Maidana fight) but i hope McCloskey gives a good account of himself as hes definatly a fighter who can prove himself at that division.

Watch out for them uppercuts Kahn!

Maidana, that's who your going with? I'm pretty sure your description could go for every single top 10 140 lbers. Maidana's strenght isn't avoiding punches

We'll see if this happens. Khan's camp didn't want this fight, they want the one hbo rejected.

I'm Irish and anti-khan but calling mccloskey fast and slick is nuts......maybe compared to queen elizabeth he's quick but against khan he's the tortoise.

Khan will look tremendous against this guy and then if he man's up he loses to bradley.

Mccloskey has an uppercut, roach fighters don't defend uppercuts..........just saying

Khan better get his chin double checked to last 12 rounds.

Jennings was ranked #51 by boxrec and was not ranked in the top 20 of any independent rankings. McCloskey is ranked #10 by both boxrec and The Ring. That's an unbelievably ****** comparison.
