He would not want one fight this year...that I do know, especially when he wants it to be his last year. Either way Wlad put him in a tough position, went far too deep into negotiations to then pull out. I suppose you can call it a bit of revenge, maybe he wanted to mess Haye around...who knows! Regardless of his intentions it is his fault that the fight isn't happening July 2nd. You guys will realise that the date was unrealistic in time. I still believe the fight will happen, I think Haye was acting up after negotiations because he was fuming, but once he has time to calm down and both guys come through their respective fights im sure it will happen in the fall, 50/50, Champion vs Champion...the way it should be. The reason why threads keep getting made and arguments keep happening is because of the pathetic Klitschko brigade who aren't really boxing fans bring up the same type of threads week after week about Haye and it is getting tired. There is so much else going on in boxing, and I just have never agreed with threads aimed at hating on a particular fighter over and over and over and over and over again.

This was a response to a poster who said Wlad ducked Haye to fight Chisora in April. Follow the entire thread before jumping to conclusions. Also, what does it say about Haye's importance that a 140 of Pakistani origin fighting a tuneup is more important to sky than a Brit hw champ fighting unification bout. And I've got no prob with Khan, I'm actually happy it turned out this way.
It was not really either guys fault, but the blame this time is certainly more on wlad than haye. He could have come to the UK and done the fight in May or June...it would have been no problem. All the networks were in, the venue would have been easy, take you pick, the money would have been the same possibly even more. But Wlad didn't want to come to the UK for the fight.

In reference to your last few sentences, the Khan fight had already been agreed, there may have been contractual obligations, but if they could move it why would they? Sky are smart...I don't think you are very smart. Haye at the moment is the bigger draw in terms of ppv but khan is 24 and will bring way more money once its all said and done, this is Haye's last year give or take. A potential khan fight with mayweather or saul alvarez or something like that in the future would potentially break sky ppv records. What does khan being pakistani have to do with anything anyway? If anything that makes him more identifiable

      • I asked Haye on Twitter and he said a Canadian Klitschko fan was making different accounts sending him pictures of his ****.

Why is it Wlad's fault the July isn't happening when he still says the date is open and all Haye has to do is agree? If Haye agrees and Wlad pulls out then he can say 'I told you so' and talk smack about Wlad some more. If he it goes through then he'll get the fight he supposedly wants. What does he have to lose by agreeing to a fight that he's certain won't happen? The worst case is that he'll be in shape and ready to fight someone else, and considering Mormeck is the next guy they're thinking of I'm sure it wouldn't be difficult to sign him on short notice. I'm not even the biggest K2 fan, I just can't stand a guy who talks smack and then won't back it up. You're defending a guy who had the balls to criticize Vit for fighting Briggs because he's old and washed up at the very time that he was signed to fight Audley who's OLDER than Briggs. This is on top of the fact that he was MIA for months while K2 were both available and challenging him to fight, the moment they sign to fight someone else, he opens his mouth and talks smack. That's what the ***s call chutzpah. How can you even begin to defend someone like that? And as for people hating on Haye over and over it's because he talks smack to keep himself in the news over and over. If he shut up and didn't talk smack no one would give two ****s about him, he would be just another champ in cr*p division doing his thing. He brings this on himself.

I brought up his background because I'm sure you know as well as I do that a lot of people dislike him for that reason alone. I'm not sure I understand your point of it making him more identifiable. To who exactly would he be more identifiable other than ******s?

For one he loses his belt, and while that may mean nothing to you or me, it means it is not a unification fight any more and certainly takes some gloss of the fight especially with the casual fan, and I would not be at all surprised if the Klitchko's use the fact even more to their advantage in negotiations. Why should he vacate if he doesn't even know if the fight is happening for sure or not. The other option is he takes the fight in May which is what he is doing, which means he would immediately have to go into training camp once his next fight is finished to do July 2nd. Seeing as there is no guarantees the smart move is to defend his heavyweight title not: lose his belt, stay inactive whilst wladimir fights, hoping he doesn't get injured, and that wlad decides to fight him. If wlad doesn't fight him then he has to fight a non-title heavyweight fight, which could potentially be his last. Like I said your either not particularly smart, or you refuse to look at the whole scenario from a neutral point of view, im suspecting its the latter, but your coming across as ******.

This is emphasised by your naive comments about Audley being older than briggs, a fighter who was in his prime in the mid 90's who has been in numerous wars and comparing him to a (yes older) fresher active heavyweight who only turned pro in his 30's, having worked his way up to european champion (yes legit contender). That is a pretty ****** comparison, in boxing terms Shannon Briggs is completely old and shot.

Right, I'm ******. I'm sure mensa is all over you. Briggs was a champ just over 4 years ago; he has accomplished more than Audley ever will. I don't look at the whole picture you say? Why don't you point out why Vit even fought Briggs in the first place? It's because there was no one else available including Haye because he was MIA at that time. How can you claim Audley is a legit contender when even Haye swore he would never fight him because he's a joke. If Haye had half the balls and a quarter the brain you seem to think he has, then he would have taken a tuneup in England in and then fought in July or later in the summer and that way he could have fought Wlad without having to deal with Sauerland. Jesus, you Haye fans have more excuses than a pregnant nun.

                • Also, even if he didn't want a tuneup before Wlad, you know very well that fighters always find ways around their mandatory while still keeping their belt, especially if it's for a unification fight.

Popularity is different to being Identifiable. "A lot of people" I doubt that very much, I would say in the grand scheme of things it is probably a minority that dislike him because of his ethnicity, but im sure the fact that he was a millionaire when he was a teenager and had a relatively easy ride in the early stages of his pro career had as much to do with it. He is the most identifiable boxer in this country bar none. Ricky hatton is extremely popular, joe calzaghe is popular, david haye is popular but they are all eclipsed by Amir. Everyone knows who he is in the UK old ladies, you name it. I can pretty much guarantee if I walked out in my road right now 99.99% of my neighbours would know who he is. An Olympic medallist is a rare commodity in the UK, especially in boxing and being a British-pakistani is even more rare in fact I think he is the only one ever who has won a medal for team GB. Add to that the fact that he won it at 17 the youngest medallist since Floyd Patterson. Then I would say that his ethnicity, his name make him more identifiable. Put it this way James Degale won the gold and all though we did much better in China as a whole in boxing, winning a gold is a huge deal yet he is nowhere near as popular as Amir.

Anyway im done with this convo because I don't seem to getting through to you and like I said you think you are in the know...but don't seem to know jack about any of this.
