Katsidas tried to box, he didn't try to spoil, maybe he would have gotten away with it, it is taught to tie you opponent up, to break up rhythm, and even though it become apart of the game, it is not in the rules.

Katidas also has spotty defense and should have been doing more to take less clean punches like for example clinching and using his strength to his advantage maybe wearing down the older man who didn't start at 135. He wasn't really playing to win~ and if he did he certainly played his hand poorly.


You fight to win plain and simple, if a guy isn't doing his all to win then why bother with them they will never amount to anything and they are soft.

Breaking a guy mentally by not obliging them in a fight is just as valid a way to win ad beating the shit out of a guy.

Marquez is a pure boxer and so is Pacquiao, there tactic are not based on spoiling. And thats why they have great fights.

I think you missed the point of what a pure boxer is, its a vague term anyway, but Pac is definately not one, in anyway. Who else do you consider a pure boxer?

And were are not on about skills. My point was on the label the pure boxer.

Now they may happen time to time in a fight, and elbow a forearm, a head but and clinching but when a fighter is using that apart of their tactics the ref is not doing his job.

Those are all parts of the sport and learning how to deal and use them to your advantage is a part of the sport even if is is not legal.

Granted Floyd has the defence part down but he has decent striking ability, good accuracy and speed but lack variety and combos.

But Floyd also relies on the dirty part of the game.

Floyd inside game is bad, and thats why he needs these dirty spoiling tactics, which the ref should be having words with him about.

DUDE you are killing me with the Floyd's inside game is bad. How many Floyd fights have you seen?? I ask that you watch some of his fights and then make a critique that goes beyond his last 3 fights. I agree about that the elbows can be excessive, but Floyd's inside fighting is ridiculous!!! FIX THAT!

I mean Floyd doesn't chose to box on the inside, he choses to spoil, he does get some short punches in but all in all he chose to spoil, choke with the forearm. Floyd fights at mid range and when an opponent gets too close he will tie them up use his dirty tactics and wait for the ref to break them.

Maybe he used the inside game at superfeather, but after Castillo outclassed him on the inside in there first fight, he has decided to never go there again.

My analysis accurately tell what Floyd does which is not pugilistic. These actions can warrant warnings and pts deductions.

To me that is not pure boxing and those tactics don't make for good fights
