Well to be fair...I'd say that he ducked Tony

He was rambling and raving that he would readily fight Cotto/Margarito I winner, probably assuming that it would be Cotto and a monster PPV would follow

And then...well Tony won and Oscar went another route.

A few facts about why can Cotto give Mayweather a hell of a fight .
Mayweather is 35 years old. He doesn't move in the ring like he used to. He can turn old overnight you never know. Cotto is coming fresh. He's not been taking serious punishment in the last 3 fights. His confidence is back and he has a good coach on his corner. Cotto have a excellent jab , know how to put pressure and is very good body puncher. I don't think he's going to run out of gas cause his stamina improved in the las fight because of Pedro his coach and Mayweather is not a pressure fighter. That's the type of fighter that Cotto's struggle. An final : Cotto doesn't have anything to loose and everything to gain and most important how will Mayweather will be mentally knowing that in 3 weeks after the fight he's going to jail .

That point might have some merit if Cotto had a right hand but he doesnt. Cotto is a left handed fighter that fights right handed. Cotto doesnt have the power right hand that Mosley has. Cottos gonna have to fight on the inside in order to get off that left hook.

Cottos right shoulder is finally 100% repaired 8 years after the car accident, I dont know why he waited till just last year to have surgery but now he cant fight with both hands again!!
