    Ok maybe hatton was kind of a brawl past round 4, but i'm just saying this based on what mayweather said- that he was going to attack early.

    You never want to attack cotto early, you want to break him down first and start pressuring him in the middle rounds

          Im expecting Floyd to take the center of the ring, like he has in his last 5 or so fights, and back his opponent up. He is stronger, and physically bigger, than we think.

            Maybe mayweather is so high on his self he thinks he can brawl like pacquiao even though he has no experience in them. I hope that's the case lol and we see mayweather in a real war for the first time.

            Maybe he can, maybe he can't i'm waiting to find out.
            just because Floyd said that doesnt mean it has to be a brawl. He's still very skilled with great D. He just means that he's going to fight him like he did Mosley & Ortiz. Moreso Mosley since Shane is a righty. He still had to be a lil cautious with Ortiz because of the rust and the Southpaw thing. He just means that he's not running, will meet him in the center of the ring, and then start applying pressure. That doesnt mean he will just throw his D & technique out the window. He thinks he can break him down toe to toe

              You need to be clear in your post, I'm not a boxing expert but your post is ******ed and heres why.
              When the hell does being AGGRESSIVE automatically mean being in a BRAWL. You think Maywheather is going to go in guns blazing with plenty of punches and overwhelm with speed and power but leave yourself open like pac does; or do what he does best, be technically aggressive like he has done in spurious moments throughout his career anyway.

              end thread

                When Mayweather says he'll brawl with Cotto, he's referring to standing in the pocket and throwing his right and snap left hook. He certainly knows how to fight on the inside and has been doing it successfully in all of his past fights aside from the DLH fight were he boxed and moved around.

                While I don't think it's a good idea vs an offensively skilled and intelligent fighter like Cotto he is certainly capable of doing it. He is very intelligent picking his shots and when to throw them.

                  Aggressive=/= Brawling.

                  He can stand his ground, defend, and apply technical pressure by using counter rights, lead rights, lead left hooks, and fighting behind his jab.

                    first of all mayweather shown that he can fight several times, never over 12 whole rounds but in parts here and there. he has brawled and hes good at it, but why get hit more than necessary to achieve the same result?

                    that said floyd wont brawl with cotto, even if he stands right in front of him he will still use his skills fighting up close. cotto is too slow and too wide a puncher to land on a regular basis on floyd and when he lands the odd shot he isnt a one punch knockout artist anyways, he wears guys down.

                    floyd will pick him apart up close at any point in the fight.
