cotto got battered by manny, so i dont see the huge appeal,
im surprised its expecting to be more grossing than mayweather-hatton, there we at least had an undefeated boxer who had beaten a common opponent in castillo, in a clearer fashion

but this is spoken of in such a huge light,

          am i missing something here?

sure cotto is a challenge for floyd, but nothing great

i know cotto was drained against manny, but 9 more pounds doesnt completely change a fighter. or does it?

what draws you to watch this on ppv, besides to watch floyds skills

Look. Mayweather will be a huge favorite no matter who he fights against including Manny. When he's at his best nobody can beat him.

But just because he's a huge favorite doesn't mean Miguel Cotto is garbage. He's a good fighter. Definitely not a Glass Joe.

So what you have is the p4p #1 fighter in the world fighting a worthy proven opponent.

you have the #1 and #3 biggest ticket/ppv sellers in the sport fighting eachother, how is that not a big fight?

ofcourse its unlikely cotto will win, hes fighting floyd mayweather. but that alone makes it a big fight, any mayweather fight is big add a fighter who is extremely popular in his own right and its a mega event.

as for cottos chances hes more confident now, he said himself he didnt belive in himself after the margarito loss (which was cheating) then he lost to manny at a catchweight. he never lost under fair circumstances, only at a disadvantage. and hes in a better place mentally.

also styles make fights, mayweather is very diffrent from manny and tony. his style suits cotto much better so even though he is a better fighter cotto might have a better shot against floyd.

and lol at the notion that hatton shouldve been bigger, cotto is still much better than hatton ever was. also how you think it means jack **** that hatton beat castillo more impressively than floyd? styles make fights and castillo was shot. u telling me that **** really made a diffrence in your mind? LOL!

and btw cotto knocked out judah in the very next fight after floyd decisioned him. KO'd corley too even though to be fair he still had more troubles with him than floyd. styles make fights though it doesnt mean anything.

I hate that mentality of "oh Cotto has losses, he can't be in a mega fight"! I guess you're not familiar with fighters of the past, they lost and still went onto make huge fights. Styles make fights, and plus he already avenged one of his losses (Margarito) and the other was against a great fighter that was a very bad match up for him (and happened 3 years ago). You also have two of the biggest draws in boxing, two fall of famers, and two fighters who people have been wanting to see fight for near 7 years.

I don't see how anybody can question the magnitude of this bout. Whether it's competitive or not, well that's another question.

Like I said, boxing is a worldwide sport. The sport doesn't revolve around one country. Also PPV this and PPV that is dumb considered the sport is much more mainstream in other countries that don't require PPVs to sustain good amounts of money. Look at the Klits and Mexican boxers.
