I think it's a shame that a serious candidate for greatest active fighter & pfp king fights only those he's supposed to beat. Martinez is ready willing & able to meet Floyd at 154. He'll be a newly crowned champ, (if all goes as planned). But sadly i fully expect Floyd-Canelo after Canelo beats a shot Mosley. Fans don't deserve this, but its what they'll get because they allow themselves to be bum****d by Floyd & his fights with a foregone conclusion.

Hopefully Shane pulls one big fight out the bag tonight and kills the chances of Canelo-Mayweather.

Firstly, the catch-weight was a 145. Also, Cotto had come in 146 the previous fight, and said himself at the time he had no issues making the weight.

Also, it is interesting how Manny is criticised for making Cotto come down, but is expected himself to come down for Marquez. So in essence, they wanted him to fight Cotto at 47, but fight JMM at 40. He's expected to fight everyone at their best weight but not one which suits himself? (which would probably be 144). FWIW, the CW was a silly idea, cos it has just allowed people to discredit a fantastic win.

Oh and no, it won't be a better win than Pac's. Not only cos I doubt Floyd puts a beating on Miguel like Pac - but Miguel had only come off one loss when he fought Manny. That was a fresher Cotto.

also tho Cotto did come in 146 lbs one fight before if u look at the weigh in of Cotto at the Pacman fight and this one u can see a clear difference

Yes, beating a one-eyed Margarito, a one-legged Foreman, and one-hit wonder in Mayorga makes this Cotto a much better version that the one who fought Pacquaio.

Incidentally, Miguel looked FANTASTIC those first few rounds against Manny. Weight did not change the fight, that uppercut and Manny's adjustments did.

This whole argument that the Cotto of tonight is better than the one who fought Manny is just bogus. It's the equivalent of saying that Manny fought the better Hatton, cos he was at his ideal weight and coming off a nice win against Paulie, and not the one Mayweather fought, who had been exposed against Collazo.

Clearly making Miguel come down to 145 was to have an advantage over him. Cotto has to bust his balls just to make 147 already and to drop an extra couple pounds on top of that is ***in hard when your already lean and in shape. Manny has already stated that was the difference in the fight. While Manny was singing karaoke with his team Cotto was bustin his ass to make weight. Who do you think has the advantage come fight night? A fresh Manny or a guy who had to bust his balls to make weight? The pathetic part here is Manny first offered the fight to Cotto at 143 pounds. Why did he want Cotto to come all the way down to 143? The real question here is why did Manny fight Oscar at 147 but a year later force Cotto to come down to 145?
Please with the JMM weight BS. While Manny was fighting at his best weight per you(144), JMM being at 39years of age went up 9 pounds from 135 to fight him and still beat him.
