Though, to give Cotto a bit of credit.. one thing he has always had.. is good timing.

And in his most recent interview, he was asked what he will have to prepare for the most, and he said Floyds counter punching.

Now, knowing something and being able to act on it are two different things, but in the very least, at least he's aware of it.

Unlike when Cotto fought Pacquiao and told the reporter.

    "I am just as fast"

    this post is pure win

    • Which would be why following the jab with a quick straight right would be very important. He did vs Margo pretty often, but Floyd's reflexes obviously put Margo's to shame.

        • [I]"[But he is pretty much better at everything than miguel offensively and defensively."

Cotto is the better offensive fighter. Mayweather is the better defensive fighter. Cotto has the better Jab, he is the better combination puncher, and he is more active. He can win a decision. Mayweather has flaws too. His name isn't higher power.

also, expect counter body shots by floyd and sneaky shots like manny threw at cotto----uppercuts land on cotto---i see those also---

basically, cotto is in for a long night---en route to a stoppage by round 10---
              everything you said here!!!

cotto doesn't move his head after he throws the jab, and cotto's jab isn't 'that' much better than those fighters. cotto has an overrated jab

That was almost 2 years ago and Floyd's 35. There is no way he can still do it at that speed now. However, his timing will impreccably remain intact for a while yet.
His timing is still good for the most part but he did mistime that uppercut on ortiz and got caught with some good shots which backed him up to the ropes in the 4th round i think.. that was a very poorly timed shot but i think he was finding it too easy that he kinda relaxed a lil too much.. maybe..

                  • It also leaves Mayweather open for a left hand counter from Cotto if he misses... but when does Floyd miss right??

lol.. i just gave an example of when he missed quite badly in the post above.. but i guess its pretty rare that he'll be in such an open position when he does miss.. usually if he misses he's in a safe position or his reflexes help him avoid the return fire.. but he did get tagged by ortiz pretty good when he missed that uppercut..
