Sergio Martinez would be the underdog in this fight period, anybody who says different is a moron...
You guys have to remember that PPV buys aren't driven by Hardcore fans, PPV are driven by casual fans, even rated #3 P4P boxer right now, you go out in the street and ask who Sergio Martinez is I garantee u that more than 75% of people aren't going to know who the hell he is, but if u ask who Floyd is, it'll be different.... this would be the same in betting...
Now as far as the Pac fight, Floyd would be the underdog, you have to remember that Pac is the peoples champ right now like it or not guys, he is the guy thats making boxing what it is right now, like it or not.... in betting circles it would be the same, and Floyd won't be betting on himself I garantee u that!!
If he loses his post fight commentary should go something like this: "Larry stick to commentating, I lost tonight, but i'm still undefeated and #1 P4P, and I still made money!!!!

hed be the underdog and everyone will hope he loses when he wins it still wouldnt be enough because it would be "boring" "all he did was hit and try not to get hit hes a runner"
James Kirkland, Alfredo Angulo, Kermit Cintron, Sergio Martinez.
There's nobody at WW right now though who's a good pressure fighter in his prime.
I'd make him the underdog against Mathysse at 140 too. Maybe even Khan.
Fraud is soft and folds under questioning.
lol holy ****!
you're clueless!
seriously, dude?
kermit cintron and james kirkland?
lucas mathysse?
kirkland has been sitting in a goddamn jail cell
mathysse had a boatload of trouble with zab judah
and kermit cintron would just leapfrog out of the ring
holy moley!
i didnt think anybody could be that dumb about boxing and act as if they knew things about it.
at least your avatar is a hot euro number
to address the op :
sergio would probably be close to even money in a fight with floyd on the books
everybody is getting all high on floyd's p4p status
but sergio is number three p4p
he's bigger
and he's got a boatload of steam and has been active
if i were handicapping i'd make sergio the slight favorite
maybe sergio wins six or seven out of ten fights
There is NO chance Floyd is the underdog. None. Zero. Zilch. Weight doesn't matter.
Again, it's not about who the hardcore boxing fans think will win. It's about who the casual boxing fans will bet on. And if you go out and poll 1000 casual boxing fans and simply ask, "who wins.. Floyd Mayweather Jr. or Sergio Martinez", I bet you not 10 of them ask "what weight is it going to be at?". That's not a question that the casual fan worries about. They go with what they know. And they know that Mayweather is undefeated, and more popular. So that's who they'll be betting on.
And the books will win either way. Public money on Mayweather. A lot of hardcore boxing fans, as well as hardcore Mayweather haters will bet on Martinez. So no matter what, when it's said and done, the books collect their fair share of the money.
Mayweather would be the favourite, but I don't think by much. Because he's undefeated and has dominated all but two of his opponents. But some people would see this as more of an even fight because of Martinez's size. Floyd is a natural 147lb guy at this point in his career. Martinez goes up to 175 and beyond inbetween fights. I think plenty of people would pick him to beat Floyd if the fight happened. And then after Floyd dominates him these same people would say "Mayweather cherry picked Martinez, He ducked this guy and that guy". There's always an excuse. Whoever he beats.
